I imagine The reason this gets returned so often is because people give up trying to assemble it. I've assembled a lot of furniture in my day and am pretty good at it. This piece was a beast, an absolute beast to put together. In part the instructions weren't all that clear and in part it just goes together in a dumb way. But if you persevere, you will end up with a really nice table. It's a good size. The storage is surprisingly good. I love the fact that there are little places to put your remote or other things you want handy, but they're not necessarily sitting just on top of the table. It's an attractive table. Seems pretty solid for an inexpensive piece of furniture, it's heavy. So I don't really have anything negative to say about it, except that the assembly was a pain in the ass. The final bit of assembly was attaching the hydraulic lift to the table top. Some reviewers recommend having two people to do this and that would be a good idea. I did it myself and was able to do it but I couldn't find the third hole in the hardware so it's only being held with two screws on each side rather than three and even so this does seem sturdy enough. BOTTOM LINE: if you want a nice round coffee table with a quite a surprising bit of storage and you don't mind putting up with a headache of installation this is the table for you. it really is attractive and very functional. I agree with Lulu's review. We needed a coffee table that took up less real estate in our small living room, looked nice, and was functional. This table fits the bill. Assembly wasn't difficult. I put it together by myself and only struggled with attaching the top. After watching videos for putting together similar lift-top tables, I learned it is easier to attach the levers/hardware to the top FIRST (making sure it lifts the top in the direction you want), and THEN connect them to the table base, reversing the final 2 steps in the instructions. There was a small nick on the edge of the table-top, but the blemish is not a big deal and easy to fix. We love the compact design, sturdiness, and clever storage that conceals our slovenliness. It will fit into any configuration of living room furniture and gives us much more space. I had been dithering over my choices, but am SO glad to have ordered this item in the rustic brown color before it became unavailable. If you are considering this coffee table when it is in stock again, don't delay! Get one! ... show more

Love this table! We needed a small table for our living room, that was round (due to children) and one that also lifts so we could have some meals at it. This one has everything we need! For building: I took the suggestion from someone about doing steps 1 and 2, then skipping to steps 6 and 7, then back to steps 3-5. This was very helpful and made building the table very easy! Took about 45 min by myself from start to finish, only using the allen wrench. It’s very sturdy and lifts easily. Also has a good amount of storage! Perfect little table. ... show more

I really like this little table. It's pretty sturdy and built well. I like to eat and watch my favorite shows so it's nice to open it up and have a place to eat without being scared of making a huge mess. It's pretty solid and even open, I don't have any concerns with it bearing most weight. The little storage place is nice and you can even put remotes and other items along the sides. Assembly was pretty easy. Many say you need 2 people and that would help, but I did it myself and it wasn't that difficult. ... show more

The table isn't bad. It's functional although not that easy to put together. I like how they provide everything you need including an Allen wrench. However, the screws tended to strip when I got to the point of tightening them. And I really wasn't turning that hard. The instructions were all pictures and no text. But at least the pictures were accurate. I've had several instructions from other things where the pictures were not accurate. Also, the top portion of the table that you can raise up does not come up very easily or evenly. You have to grab the top and lift both sides at the same time and at the same speed. Otherwise it doesn't come up. Probably the most disappointing thing is that the rubber feet made permanent black marks on our carpet when we moved the table. (See attached picture) We didn't realize the marks until we had moved it around to vacuum after putting it together. And we haven't figured out a way to get the marks out of the carpet. I ended up ordering feet covers so that we could still use the table. I'm afraid to say that the table is not worth the price but it's also not worth returning. ... show more
