  • A lot of flute for very little money
Color: Pink
I was at the NAMM show a couple of years ago and saw these colored flutes there, and thought it might be fun to have one, but forgot about it until the other day when I was looking for some flute accessories, and came across this one by accident. I had figured that I might pay $300-$400 - what used to be the going rate for a low-end student flute, but this was for sale for the amazing, almost unbelievable price of $86. I figured that for less than $100 it was worth a try just for the color, but I was a little leery about what kind of quality I was going to get at this rock-bottom price point. I must say, I was very pleasantly surprised - it's actually a good flute. Well made, intonation is good, sound is good. I like it a lot. I'm actually going to use it for some gigs I have coming up. The hot pink will add some bling on stage. By way of comparison, I have a few other flutes, the best being a top-end Powell that I paid north of $12,000 for. This one is around ⅔ of 1% of the cost of that Powell. And the reality is that in this day of computerized design, CNC machine processes and all the other industrial process improvements of the last few decades, these inexpensive instruments have gotten very good. As far as value for money goes, this is a much better value than the Powell, nice though the Powell is. If you're looking for an inexpensive instrument for your kid or yourself, this is a really good deal. And the colors are pretty cool. At this price, you can afford to have a few, so as to match your clothing ensemble. ... show more

  • Good sound quality
Color: Dark Blue
I was surprised at how good it sounds. Plays nice. Feels like real metal too. And it looks cool!

  • Beautiful Instrument
This is a beautiful purple flute. Played really well until a screw fell out under one of the key pads. This makes it diff to play lower sounds. Other tan this issue, it worked eeally well.

  • Really nice flute for the price
Color: Pink
Can't go wrong at this price. No, the craftsmanship is not the same as you would get on a higher end flute. If you expect that, you're way off the mark. The craftsmanship is perfectly fine for the price point, sound is plenty decent for a starter flute, and the color is fab. The keys are just not the same quality as a better instrument, and if you've handled a good quality flute before, you can feel the difference. But for a beginner's or practice instrument? This will not do you wrong. This price point with this quality? Excellent, excellent, excellent. Plus the color is just FUN. ... show more

  • Good flute to try something new
Color: Nickel Plated
I bought this flute not having any music experience. I am 55 and wanted to get a flute for under $100 in case I hated playing it I wouldn't be out much money. As it turns out this flute has really worked very well for me. I am really enjoying some online classes. I may invest in another flute but I see no reason to do so any time soon. I like that it is nickel instead o silver plated. I leave it on the flute stand so it is handy to play. I don't have to worry about it getting tarnished. The case it came in is pretty good although it does not lay flat on the side due to the strap. I am glad it has the stand. Works better than I thought it would. The key pads and screws all seem good to me. ... show more

  • Defective Out of the Box
The purple color is very pretty; however, there were some flaws in the finish that concerned me as to the lasting quality of the finish. The case is decent as well as the included stand. They are definitely not the best quality. The worst part is that I could not even play the flute right out of the box because the lower three keys, played with the right hand, did not make one difference in the sound. There is definitely something wrong with this flute, and I am returning it for this reason. I understand that this is a very cheap flute, but I should be able to play it to some degree. I would not buy another one, and I do not recommend it. ... show more

  • It's beautiful!
My granddaughter took a liking to the flute in elementary school. She was quite proficient very quickly. Renting from the school was fine, but owning her own seemed the way to go. I expected to spend quite a bit more- and you can, but why? This flute is beautiful and in her favorite color! Now in middle school, she continues to make beautiful music! ... show more
