I ordered the king 14" cooling mattress. Starting off by saying this mattress is not firm like the other reviews say. It's a true medium. I prefer medium firm and firm mattresses. This is not close. I ordered it because of all the reviews saying it was firm. I have another mattress on the way and this will just go to my son. Other than that complaint, it's a decent mattress for the price! Absolutely no smell when unboxing. It took shape pretty quickly, probably within like 3-4 hours. I let it sit for almost 24 hours before sleeping on it. The box was heavy though. If you're on the smaller side and it's going up some stairs, you'll need help or I used straps to pull it upstairs. I needed a mattress for my son’s toddler bed. So I ordered 6 in “mattress in the box”. Good about it: 1. Easy to order and delivery (small box), don’t need to take/rent a truck to get a mattress 2. Easy to carry. The box is light enough and good shape to carry by myself without any other help. 3. As soon as I cut the plastic, the mattress took shape (in instructions said 2-24 hours) 4. Light weight 5. Medium firm (for me actually firmness is great, I don’t like soft and toppers, but anyway it’s for my small kid) 6. Comfortable 7. 6 in is very nice size (I was afraid it’s too thin) 8. My son was able to sleep the night on the mattress in a few hours after opening the box. 9. Mattress cover has a zipper on the bottom, I think it’s for easy cleaning (maybe even in washer) What is bad about it: honestly, I’m very happy with this purchase and haven’t find any cons (yet?) ... show more

I’ve had this bed for a few months now,and so far it’s great! 👍 it’s firm enough to provide ample support but is soft enough to make you feel comfortable. It’s a bed you look forward to coming home to. Both my fiancé and I are pretty heavy. (We workout and were looking for a bed that will feel good on our sore bodies after the gym) I weigh 195 and he weighs even more! No indents and great support! The bed arrived on time and as described. Easy to open and unbox. Quality item. Price is perfect, quality is much better than expected. It has a strange smell when it first opens but that fades after an hour. The delivery instructiond of the item were not followed by the Amazon delivery person. Stress WHERE you want it delivered. I have 3 different brands of Amazon "bed in a box" mattresses. They are all the same memory foam styles. I have also owned many types of mattresses from a sleep number to tempurpedic and everything in between to alleviate back pain from military service. This is by far the best mattress I've ever purchased. It was purchased as a cheap option to needing a guest bed but turned out to be my bed of choice. My only regret is that I didn't get a king size to use in my room. You are able to sleep on your side, back or stomach comfortably. Normally, I toss and turn all night but I don't with this one. If you happen to turn them there is a less than ideal depression. It takes less than a minute to resolve but it is more noticable than my other two mattresses or a traditional inner spring mattress. There was no smell from the mattress as there had been with my other one and it inflated rather quickly. The mattress is soft yet progressively firm to support you. Movement from others is hardly noticeable. It's true to size and fairly lightweight. It appears to have a washable outer cover. ... show more

Firstly, I have never purchased a foam mattress before so I cannot compare this mattress to others in its category but I will give my honest opinion here. I purchased this mattress for my one year old. Positives: This mattress had zero smells when it opened. I opened it midday and it was completely done inflating by bedtime and I felt comfortable putting it in my child's room by night time. The quality was wonderful and it is very light. The cover was a soft material and it had great quality foam with all the proper certifications. I was pretty happy with it upon opening. Subjective: This mattress is very firm. It does not have the support of a firm spring mattress since there are no springs. It would be like putting a memory foam topper on the floor - you have that small amount of give and it is very firm below that. The top two inches are that type of memory foam that sinks as a warms up so when you roll over at night you aren't immediately comfortable and if you have any back or hip pain and need a firm mattress, I would recommend looking for something with springs - hybrid mattresses are my favorite. The 8 inch may also be just too thin. My understanding is that the thicker mattresses have a thicker layer of the memory foam. I personally didn't mind the firmness so much, although, I didn't really love the feeling of shifting in the night and this is not something that would have worked for me in pregnancy as my hips got pretty sore from laying on my side all the time on a latex mattress - this would have been much harder on me. Regardless, I purchased this for my one year old but, unfortunately, he flipped and flopped and woke up frequently for a week before I traded this mattress for the one in the guest room (a hybrid mattress), which he slept completely soundly on. I decided to return this mattress and search for a hybrid, which will hopefully serve us better. This company did try to give me a 50% return because they could not take the full sized mattress back but I told them, within the 30 day return window, that was not acceptable. They gave me my money back but left the mattress for me to keep or donate, which was very nice of them. Four stars for quality and customer service but this mattress was unfortunately not for us! ... show more
