I ordered the charcoal versions of the Combs Nylon Combat Boots. The boots arrived quickly, and are of very high quality construction. The nylon is very tough, yet very flexible and gives the foot a full range of motion when kneeling or crouched. The tread has performed very well on continually icy grounds in my area where the temperature recently has averaged at 11 degrees. The boots, much to my surprise, have kept my feet very warm in these temperatures even with cotton athletic socks. So much so that my feet are usually sweating after being outside for a while. My only complaint with these boots was that they were a tad large. I usually wear a size 12 in Men's shoes, and I read conflicting information about Dr Martens sizing, so I just ordered my usual shoe size and I've got about half to three quarters of an inch from my toes to the end of the boot. When tied firmly this extra space feels fine. I decided not to try to return them for a different size because I figured if I ever had to wear thick wool socks with them, I'd have adequate space in the toe without being too cramped, plus they were very comfortable to wear as they are. One last note, this has nothing to do with the quality and comfort of the boot: This is the first pair of Dr Martens I've ever had so I can't compare them to any others, but I'm not very sure what the 'bouncing sole' that I see advertised on the tags at the back of the boot is about, I notice no bouncing sensation. Update: these boots lasted me a year. I wore them 4-5 days a week and put them through a lot of long shifts in the service industry. The soles eventually wore down and started to crack after about 7 months but overall for the price I’m still happy and purchased another pair because of how comfortable they were. Original review: I bought these boots to wear when bartending/barbacking at work. Needed something that would have decent slip resistance but be a little more durable and fashionable that standard industry shoes. These have been great for the past couple months and seem to be holding up well. Slip resistance is probably a 7 out of 10. The soles are nice and bouncy with good support. I feel pretty solid walking around on wet and greasy floors in the restaurant. They’re very comfortable. Only took a couple of shifts to break in. These are my first pair of Docs and I’ll prob be buying some more soon because of how much I like this pair. ... show more

I had ordered a men's 6 first, because I read they run big. Well those were too tight. I actually kept them for my son, he could grow into them, he wears a 5. So then I went back and got a men's 7, and those fit alot better. They feel more like a women's 9, not a women's 8. If they had half sizes, I would have gotten mens 6.5 perhaps, but it's better to have the room so it's fine with me. I can lace them up tight and I've had no problem with the extra bit of room. At least tou can wear thick socks, I don't personally, but you could. I got these for work, I stand on my feet, and at times can potentially slip. These are great for being on your feet, mine don't hurt very much anymore:) The slip resistance is not there. I don't know if they're supposed to be , but I'm sliding across here and there when working lol. I haven't fallen yet, but I have to be careful. We don't have anti-fatigue mats unfortunately, so that's why I'm sliding everywhere. That's not the boots fault, so I do love the boots. I've been wearing them almost 3 months now, and they look good and don't get dirty easily. Now I want slip on ankle ones, so it's faster to take on and off. ... show more

Bought these in Men's 10. I'm a long-time Docs customer, and a friend had a pair of these - they recommended them outright as a sneaker boot. My normal size, when buying Docs, is 10 men's. These arrived with that size, and are exactly the same sole length as my 2 other pairs of Docs. However, the upper appears to be narrower by a fair margin. The shoes are very snug, and are requiring a bit of a break-in period. (I have no doubt they WILL break in, I can already feel them doing so, and it's not really that bad.) However, if you wear a 10 in Docs, be forewarned that these DO NOT run "large" in size. Other than that, these boots look sharp as heck, and are lighter than regular Doc Martens. Same sole, same insoles. I look forwarding to putting them through a real beating this year, as I do all my boots. ... show more

Super comfortable. These took almost no time to break in. My only complaint would be that they do run a little narrow, so if you have wide feet order up a size.

I originally ordered the all black Dr. Martens they only had a size 7 in mens left I normally wear a size 8 but all the comments were saying to size down a size stating they run big which was simply not true. I got them and they were too small so I have to return them so I found these boots which are similar to the all black ones I originally wanted and ordered my normal size 8 and they fit perfectly don't listen to the reviews saying to size down they are just wasting your time all Dr. Martens are true to size. These boots seem to be made well but time will tell after wearing them everyday at work. ... show more

Look, they're Docs. They generally cost alot of money but that's meaningless from the perspective of age, comfort, and style. These in particular will feel just as excellent as the leather originals only with a high quality nylon/canvas material (think All Stars if they were boots). No complaints at all really except the obvious trademark "breaking in" where you'll have to untie them as low to the toe as you can to avoid painfully wedging your feet into a narrow foot cave. However, the lace style is practical so it's hardly a problem getting in and out of them in only less than a couple minutes. Look cool, feel cool. Don't think about price because they'll last longer than you'll even be able to remember that. ps: they're discounted so if you always wanted a pair of Docs without spending over $100 for them, go for it 👉 ... show more
