  • If you use your miter saw as much as I use mine, you need this!
I admit that I was a bit skeptical about this miter saw stand when I looked at the photos--it seemed too narrow and top-heavy to be safe. I got it anyway because I was tired of cleaning all the sawdust off my bench from using it to hold my saw and I figured this one could be set up outside or in a corner when I needed it and put away when I didn't. That way I could keep things a bit tidier. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that this is a well-balanced and perfectly sturdy set up with my saw attached. The legs spread enough for stability (like a saw horse) and the brackets for attaching the saw are adjustable to fit your mounting holes regardless of the size of the saw. (I did have one minor problem bolting my saw down because the saw has off-set holes from the front to back so I could only attach the holes in either the front or the back, but not both. I did a work-around with some stainless steel zip-ties through the mounting holes in the front and it is steady as a rock. Problem solved.) Everything is painted to rust-proof it so I doubt it will deteriorate in my lifetime. I LOVE the outriggers that allow me to move the board easily to the cut mark and still hold it up on both ends in between cuts. The best part is that it is super easy to set up or take down so you can haul it to wherever you are working instead of having to bring everything to the saw. This is definitely worth the price! ... show more

  • Perfect DIY'er Stand, Light, Small-ish, Cheap
I own a handyman service with a significant focus on trim carpentry, so I end up using a miter saw at client sites often. For several years I've been using a big, heavy 12" sliding miter saw on an equally big, heavy and expensive Dewalt miter saw stand. I find this setup to be overkill for many jobs and to be a pain to transport, so I invested in a much smaller & lighter 7 1/4" sliding miter saw, which has turned out to be a breeze to transport. I wanted a stand for that smaller saw that would be equally small, light and transportable. This Dovaman miter saw stand fills that niche perfectly. This Dovaman miter saw stand can be used with big 12" sliding miter saws, but it's optimally sized for smaller saws. Overall the stand is small-ish, but has most of the features of bigger, more expensive stands. The material supports open wide enough for most tasks, but not as wide as pro quality stands. The rollers on the material supports are a nice touch, but in my experience they're a "nice to have", not a "must have", feature. The construction is all steel, which is strong, durable and allows hitting a low price point. There are lighter stands out there, usually fabricated from aluminum, but they'll be quite a bit more expensive. Overall this stand is just about perfect for DIY'er use, being small-ish, light and full featured, while hitting a low price point. One thing I've noticed that I find a bit annoying about this stand is that the "end stops" mentioned in the item listing (I know them as material stops) are built into the bottom of the material rollers, so to use them you have to adjust the height of the roller/stops. On most stands with rollers the stops are engaged by merely flipping up the stop without messing with the height, so you can change between roller and stop with ease. ... show more

  • Great compact tool
What a great tool. It has all of the features of the big boys but in a smaller compact body. I have wanted one of these for years but just did not have the space for one of those big, heavy and bulky tools. This one fits the bill perfectly! It really does what those big tools do but without all of the bulk. It fits nicely into my small shed and is light enough to actually carry instead of using a dolly or wheels to move. Comes with the complete tool. Basic main body, extension arms, roller/stop supports and detachable saw mount with mounting screws. It is simple to assemble. The main body has 4 legs that pull out and fold up for storage. They are retained in the closed position by a strong metal, spring loaded button. The saw mount is easily removed or installed by a set of levers and can be positioned anywhere along the rails of the main body of the tool. Yep, I am loving this one as it makes working so much easier. ... show more

  • Not a perfect fit for a Dovaman 10" Compound Sliding Miter Saw
I have a Dovaman 10 Inch Dual Speed Compound Sliding Miter Saw. So, I expected this stand to fit my saw perfectly. Apparently this stand is made to accommodate other brands as well and therefore is not quite a perfect fit for my saw. The orange saw horse is heavy duty and folds easily but securely locks in place. The slide out wings fit well inside the channels and, like the rollers on each end, use a corner-mounted set screw to hold them in place. The problem is the way the pedestal that mounts on the bottom of the miter saw, attaches to the saw. There are four 2 1/2" long M6 carriage bolts that are included to bolt the two railed pedestal to the saw. For my Dovaman saw, a lager diameter, shorter bolt would work better. However, the include bolts, though not perfect, do work. The larger issue is that the foot pads on the front legs of my Dovaman miter saw are not aligned with the holes where these bolts go. So when you tighten down these front bolts it twists the pedestal rails. Fortunately the back hole is aligned with the foot pad and can be firmly tightened. A person could add a shim to the front but I oped not to make the front bolts tight. This seems to work adequately for now but I may change it later. The saw is fairly well centered on the saw horse and the pedestals' spring clamps are toward the front of the saw when it is mounted the way it seems to be pictured in the unclear assembly directions. However, it seems like the rollers do not really align with the working surface of the saw. I'll probably remove the pedestal rails and try putting them on the other direction, with the spring clamps at the back of the saw. ... show more
