Ambery Saffron: musky sweet. Pretty strong. Amazing though. Of all the dossier I have smelled, it’s my favorite and my boyfriend LOVES it ! Ambery Cedarwood: lighter when you smell straight from the bottle, but when you wear it pleasantly strong. Has lasted me all day. I’m not sure what the original Alien smells like- but this is definitely something someone will either love or hate. It’s mysterious musky. Not really sweet, not really masculine either. My coworker said it smelled like “old money” and very mature- but not like your grannies perfume. I love it. But I don’t think it’s for everyone! I think it’s more of a night/ date perfume.

I worked at VS the summer of 2008 and they released Very Sexy Dare. It was a very mature scent that I liked and I don’t even know what happened to the bottle after all these years. I ordered a tube of it since it’s discontinued and hard to find. I have a teen now and she kept using it all 😭 I’ve been looking for something competed and reading all sorts of reviews and scent note profiles. Thierry Mugler or however you spell it has Alien which is supposed to be a similar scent note profile. When I was searching around on Amazon, this dupe popped up. I figured I’d take a chance and if I didn’t like it, I could find someone to gift it to. It’s now a favorite of mine. I love the magnetic cap, I love that it lasts, the bottle size is perfect and it smells amazing. It lasts on my skin or on my clothes. I sprayed it on a hoodie and fell asleep in the hoodie, still woke up smelling amazing. This smells like some authentic $100+ perfume without breaking the bank. It’s sophisticated and sexy, not sweet or fruity. One or two sprays is plenty!

This perfume is a spot on dupe for Alien by Mugler. I’m in love, and I cannot stop smelling it on my skin. It is quite strong, and lasts a while on me personally. The atomizer is very nice, one spritz and it will spray very well, very strongly and evenly. I also appreciate the magnetic cap, it’s a nice touch. In my opinion, the bottle is kind of small, but that may just be because I want more of it haha. Objectively speaking, it’s a good size. I might just re-order some soon just in case they get rid of it or change the formula or something like that, it really is amazing. I highly recommend this product if you’re looking for a dupe of Alien by Mugler.

First of all: great bottle size, great value for the money, excellent longevity. All of Dossier's scents that I've tried so far last and last and last and I was surprised at how far the bottle contents go. Like, I don't know if I'll ever run out, haha. But now, onto the review about the scent itself: If I were rating this scent on how much I liked it... I would honestly rate it lower. HOWEVER, I won't do that because it's not Dossier's fault or the perfume's fault, it's my own. The issue I have with this scent is that it is POWDERY — there's a distinctly 'baby powder' scent to it which I abhor, personally, and was not at all expecting upon reading the notes in it. I didn't read any reviews beforehand because I trusted Dossier (and still do, don't get me wrong) after buying their Fruity Magnolia as a dupe for Versace's Bright Crystal and it was SPOT ON and amazing. So I expected that THIS scent would be just as amazing based on the notes listed. The only note I wasn't familiar with was Heliotrope Flower... Which seems to have been my doing in. Heliotrope Flower, it seems, is what packs the powdery punch in this particular scent. As someone sensitive to smells I don't like, it makes this scent borderline unwearable. However, I'm stubborn and own up to my own mistakes so I didn't want to return it or rate it poorly and am determined to find some way to layer it in hopes of cutting through the powder smell. And to be fair, once it dries down some, the powdery smell is much less noticeable — it still comes and goes in waves which is a pain but if you ignore the powdery scent, it still has a lovely, bright, silky, fruity-woodsy scent. I just wish that somewhere in the information about the scent, it had mentioned SOMETHING about 'powdery.' If I had known, I would have opted for a different scent. That's the only reason I took off a star, so sorry.

The reviews didn't lie. This really is a great dupe perfume for Alien! I love sexy sensual scents that awaken the mind. I hate any floral, citrus, coconut or vanilla scents. Talk about nausea.

Dossier’s Ambery Cedarwood is an absolute gem! From the very first spritz, I was hooked. It opens with a warm, inviting amber that feels both comforting and sophisticated, then settles into a gorgeous cedarwood base that gives it real depth and elegance. It smells incredibly high-end — rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. What I love most is how long it lasts. I get compliments hours after applying it, and people are always shocked when I tell them it’s not a $200+ designer fragrance. It has that cozy, slightly mysterious vibe that works day or night, any season. Dossier nailed it with this one — luxurious, affordable, and absolutely unforgettable. This has quickly become a signature scent for me. Highly recommend if you're looking for something warm, woody, and seriously addictive!

I have put a lot of time researching scents trying to find the closest equivalent to a perfume that is no longer being made. Ambery Cedarwood is a less expensive version of a rather expensive, for me at least, a perfume close to $200. This is pretty close. It has the warm sensuality I was looking for. The notes are pleasant as they transition and are not overpowering. With that said I’m pretty disappointed in the lack of longevity. It seems like it’s gone in an hour. I don’t like carrying perfume in my purse so I can reapply it in 45 minutes. But the bottle is too big for a “ night out” purse anyhow. All in all I should have saved my money up to buy the real thing.
