  • Very good flashlight
Color: Yellow
I don't know what it is with flashlights today. They're tactical, metal, have multi-select switches, S.O.S. modes, strobe modes are super bright or not so bright and the batteries don't last that long. Okay, sure, I have my selection of these lights to play with and use but they are battery-eaters or require recharging. They're not that dependable for length of use or storage. Sure, I can illuminate something a quarter mile away or light up a room like it's sunrise but how often do I need to do that? I find that metal housed lights have a tendency to cause the batteries to leak (ahem...Mag Light) so I spend $30-$40 bucks on a light that I can't keep the batteries in while it's in the car. Or you go to look for something and have to hit the tail switch several times to cycle through all the modes so you can just get a basic light. I shouldn't have to teach anyone how to work a flashlight and I shouldn't have to worry about the light in my wife's vehicle going bad or dead. Or, if you go get a simple cheapie to keep tossed in a drawer, it's still 1980's tech and you can't see 5' in front of you. So I got these. Simplistic white LED, a basic on/off switch where it should be, rugged enough to toss in a glove box and the with low-drain LED bulbs, no worry of dead batteries after 30 minutes. They are also inexpensive without being cheap. These are great for walking around the house at night. I can easily see the second story of my house, my AC units or whatever else I need to look at. I hand it to my Grandkids and they instantly know how to use it. It's either on or it's off. Simple. It's a cone-spot pattern so if focuses the light on your project when your checking your breakers or widens out to about a 6' diameter from across two rooms in the house. Outside you probably get about 25' of usable light before the pattern widens out too much. This makes it great for changing a tire at night or walking though those anti light-pollution fixtures that resorts use these days. This light is not for you if you need to carry the sun in the palm of your hand or want a self-protection device but if your just need simple, long-lasting usable light for everyday tasks, get it. ... show more

  • Beware, the Bulbs will Burn Out Quickly!
Color: Yellow
I fell in love with my first Dorcy 41-2510 Floating Waterproof LED Flashlight when I purchased it from amazon.com 2 years ago. After a myriad disappointing flashlight purchases, I believed I found the needle in the haystack. High ratings and really good reviews complimened this flashlight's inexpensive price, lightweight compact size, quality construction and brilliant light. I was impressed. I purchased four more to keep in different places around the house (Smart thing to do if you live in the South during the Summer). I even purchased three more to give away as gifts. Then, it happened. Between the first and second months after purchiing my flashlights, I watched, frustrated as every bulb (There are 4 led bulbs in each flashlight) burned out one by one... So, if the bulbs can be replaced, are not expensive and will last a long time, then perhaps I can forgive Dorcy's descrepency. However, if the bulbs cannot be replaced or if bulb replacements cost more than a fraction of the original flashlights price, and/or still maintain a short lifespan, I have once again been suckered by another sales gimmick. Either way, shame on Dorcy for marketing flashlights with faulty and/or short life bulbs! ... show more

  • Would not use for sea night dives, but for the price a good basic flashlight.
Color: Neon Green
I just noticed this has over 3k reviews already, but I already wrote it. I wanted a small dependable LED flashlight for use around the house and yard. Didn't need anything fancy or super powerful, and didn't want to pay much. My only requirements: a thumbswitch instead of the rear off/on that's so common, and at least partially rubber-covered. That narrows down the field of choices, but this one seemed to fit the bill. It's not the most powerful but after 6 months it's still on the set of batteries it came with. The beam is fine for my usage, several times per week but for short periods, like checking a sprinkler, a closet, walking to the mailbox, etc. I haven't given it a waterproof test because that term is thrown around too easily. I used to scuba dive and these are not the kind we used. I will say it's definitely *resistant*, and the Kelvin temperature is on the cool side. I like the size, and the thought in design. The non-slip rubber around the lens prevents rolling around and a cushioned base for standing up. A bit chubbier than the typical 3AA battery size but light in weight, with rubberized hand grip as well. For the price you can never have enough rubber or LED flashlights. Bonus feature that I like: carabineer clip on the end. It's always hanging up where I'll find it. ... show more

  • REALLY waterproof...survived the washing machine!!
Color: Purple
I bought these for my kids to use camping and at night reading after lights out at home. We've had them for a few months and the flashlights work great! Easy for little fingers to use and night and bright. The kids love the clip on the end so they can hang the flashlight from their bunkbed. The flashlight really got tested the other night when my oldest had the stomach flu. I grabbed all the linens and threw them in the washing machine...along with the flashlight. OOPS!! I didn't realize it was in her bedding, but found it after the wash cycle had completed. It still works!!! For the price and the quality, I don't think you can get a better flashlight. ... show more
