This is a nice heater for a dog house. It is rated at 500 watts. It will be pretty cheap to use. Everything is connected directly to the heater. The heater is meant to be mounted on the inside wall of a dog house, and it has a thermostat with a controller built into the thermostat. If you have an overhang on your dog house roof, you can drill a small hole and pass the wire to the heater through the wall to the inside. That way you'll have access to the controller. The controller has a loop on top for mounting it to a wall. One of the pictures in the product listing shows the controller mounted on a wall outside the dog house. There are 3 wires on the controller. One is for 120VAC power. One is for a temperature probe, and the other goes to the heater itself. They tout the temperature probe as an OUTSIDE probe. I don't know how that's going to work, but they are mighty proud of it. This system has a timer so you can control when the heater comes on and turns off. It also has overheating protection, and the heated space temperature ranges from 41 degrees to 113 degrees. It is made for regular and larger dog houses, and can heat a space up to 125 cubic feet. That's pretty large! Like so many new products, this one has a smartphone app. You can operate the heater without using the app on your phone, but it is easier to use the app so you don't have to crawl into the dog house! The app gives you full control over the heater. So does the controller. The heating system is built to last for 10 years. You can also use this heater for chicken coops and other small spaces. Total game changer for pups! I've had this guy in my dog's insulated dog house on the sides, top and bottom. One of those plastic freezer strip things on his door and my guy is in hog heaven in cold weather <32 degrees! It is soooo toasty warm that it's warmer than the "indoor"kennels (a barn) with heaters as well. It's not too hot and I've never worried about my pooch burning himself. He's been out in the snow, in his house with this running and I'm very comfortable knowing that he's doing well and not cold. Again, don't hesitate if your fur baby is outside in the winter. What an awesome gadget. My parents have a dog that refuses to stay in the house. I want to make sure we have a way to keep him warm this winter and I came across this heater. It’s a small 500w dog house heater with a thermostat. It comes with a 6.5 inch thermal temperature probe and timer. You will need to download the app and connect to the heater through Wi-Fi. Setting up the app is super easy. It’s also easy to set up the dog heater and use it. It’s a quick and easy process. It does an amazing job of heating up his dog house, quickly and quietly. If it made a loud noise, he would freak out but he hasn’t had any issues with it. We did a trial run and he handled it great. This is definitely a great peace of mind for myself and my parents knowing that the dogs will still be warm this winter even though he has a nice warm house to come in but refuses. Using this for heating the storage bin under are class A RV. It works very well for this smaller compartment to avoid freezing of 16kw of Lifepo 4 batteries. In our case the sensor, heater and power all in a very close together area so the short cords were good for us. Set the heater to a setting above freezing and now just need winter to come to see how well it is going to work out. From the limited testing it seems as if it will have no issues keeping this area above freezing. I use this as to keep my dog's house nice and warm when he is outside. I live in Michigan where it can get pretty cold but my dog loves to stay outside all the time. This with a nice insulated doghouse gives him a nice reprieve from the harsh conditions and still enjoy being outside.
