I bought this bed with the intention of trying to enable my dog to have a comfortable traveling experience when he is with me, as my last traveling dog seat was unfortable and had too many straps and my dog had a panic attack while he was in the car and I had to go back home (hes not used to traveling in cars). What initially led me to trying this bed over others is that the side bolstering looked comfortable and the lining looked soft. I have since had time to try the bed out a little bit and I can confirm that both of those aforementioned points are true. The pillow does have to be inserted manually but its not too hard to do since the zipper goes around the entire circumference of the bed. So heres the thing, like some other reviewers that I've seen here, I have not gotten to test the bed in my car yet. I put it on the floor to test how my dog would like it, and, being the very picky dog with exquisite taste that he is, he immediately claimed it as his own and slept on it for a while. And hes done this several more times since. So I might just use it as an in-house bed for him for the time being, but I will update this review when I test it inside my car. So far, no complaints here, 5 out of 5 stars ... show more

I ordered this as a way to corral the dog somewhat while I am driving. It's often just the 2 of us so I let him ride in the front seat. I have a harness seatbelt on him which keeps him somewhat restrained, but he is often reluctant to curl up and relax when we're on the move. - Fastened in the front seat, this has worked well for us. He's about 16 lbs with long legs, but definitely a small dog. In the photo (taken indoors after first putting it together) you can see there's room in there to spare. Dogs typically like a snug space for relaxing so I'd think a larger (20-30 lb) dog would be able to curl up in there. - The floor of the device is flat cloth. There's no thickness or elevation to it. - The sides of the bed are substantial, so can restrain the dog somewhat in a defined space, but are quite soft and will flatten if the dog sits on the walls. - This dog bed is a few inches wider than the average front car seat, but it's flexible so there is no issue with door closing. It'll fit snug in the space between your center console and the door handle. - If you put it in the back seat the lower buckles won't have any place to go (they're designed to wrap around the setback). But you'll be able to strap the upper part of the dog bed (setback) to the headrest if you have them in the back. - Recommended ... show more

I’m writing my review based off of the product that I received. The image for the product has changed since I received my dog bed. The bed I received matched the image on the original listing, not the black mesh seat listed now. The bed I recieved is cozy and securely straps into the car, making rides more comfortable for your fur travel buddies. It would work great for a medium or small sized dog, not for a lab like was photoshopped into the original listing. I have a very tiny German shepherd that manages to curl herself up into an impressively tiny little ball. She can manage to just barely fit herself into the bed, but would not use it in the car because it’s too small for her. Instead I’ve been using it as a dog bed in the house. She seems to love the squishy side walls on the bed. Honestly I would prefer the dog car seat currently listed as it would prevent a smaller sized dog from running around in the car while in motion, keeping your little fur baby much safer during car rides. ... show more

    • Nice high sides and comfy size for traveling pup
I got this to transport our pup comfortably on long trips. So far, it has worked well, and kept him feeling snug and secure, without sliding all over the place. It seems to be sturdily built, with quality construction, and it takes up about the same space a large child's car seat. The mesh sides are nice for breathability, and the bottom so far has protected my leather seats from becoming scratched. It also works to catch and confine pet hair that I can easily vacuum out. I’ve gone through a lot lot of car dog seats and I really liked this one. It’s made well with durable fabric. It functions well in the front seat for my 65 pound pitbull. It hooks over the top headrest and then straps on around the back of the seat. It does not move around or slip off. Easy to clean as you can pull out the stuff and just throw it in the washer. Doesn’t offer any safety protection for the dog inside the car but rather just more comfortable way to ride. Highly recommend. ... show more

Really nice and well made dog seat, does not appear it will tear or rip easily. The straps are really easy to adjust and the entire seat was a breeze to assemble. I had it in my car within 10 min or so after opening the box. I have an Acura RDX and put the dog seat in the front passenger side, my dog Lily is a Maltese at about 18 lbs and she fit with a lot of room to spare. It kept her in the seat without her feeling she could jump out, she seemed comfortable (even though she is NOT a fan or car rides!). I liked the collar leash to keep the dog from trying to come into your lap as you drive (a issue with all of my dogs). I also like it protects the seat from claws and treats. It did not appear to be waterproof from accidents, but it is washable if it does get dirty. The cushion on the sides is removeable for easy washing. The bottom is NOT padded (only the sides), so it did not raise my dog high enough to see out the window (but this is not an issue for me). Overall, it is a nice doggy car seat! ... show more
