    • Great but NO DVD/CD-ROM drive!!??
Great computer for the price though no CD/DVD-RW Rom Drive which I never knew was a thing with computers/laptops these days. Definitely wish I would've known. Bought a Hobest Rom Drive from another amazon seller and works good. Only thing is on this UHD screen computer it'd probably be standard with at least a Blu Ray capable Drive. The cheapest external one was $80 and several ratings said it didn't work right. I got mine for $30 which had no complaint ratings. Just wish I would've known.. something stating no Rom Drive like in a checklist or item description. Oh well. Anyway it looks and feels great! Love the backlit keyboard. You can always turn that feature off with the F5 key. There's 3 settings for it.. off, low, and high. For some reason my external hard drive doesn't work on the 3.0 USB connections on the left side, and it has a 3.0 cord. It does work on the right 2.0 connection. Love the number pad. Best this about this computer is the performance for the money. 12GB RAM and up to 3.9GHz processing speed.. can't get that for under $600 at a local store that I know of! Saw some laptops at Walmart. Highest RAM was 8GB, but no processing speeds were listed. Most of theirs were 4GB RAM like my old computer. Anyway the 8GB started at $600 before tax. I don't think any of theirs had Rom Drives either though couldn't fully tell but didn't look like it. With the better speed I have now I'm able to play some games I couldn't on my old computer that had 4GB RAM and 2.3GHz processing speed. I wasn't in the market for a gaming computer but do like to play games on my computer sometimes. Best thing about my old hp is it had a function to double tap to turn off/on the laptop mouse pad. I accidentally hit that dumb thing every so often. On this one it's not as often but I still do. Would be a nice feature to have. The worst thing about my old hp is the material was really brittle. I knew it'd start falling apart someday and it did. Took several years. This Dell feels like it's made from good material, so that shouldn't happen. My hp's innards lasted without issue. Was just the shell that broke. Had it for 7 years. Will see how long this one holds up. My Toshiba was a brick but the innards gave me trouble. Will this laptop last 10 years?.. hopefully. Brand new computer. False advertising: did not come with ssd. Very slow boot time. Slow and laggy processing speeds for basic functions such as basic web browsing. Even the keyboard input lags.

A continuación, mi juicio respecto a la adquisición de la laptop Dell Inspiron 15 500, 2019. Esta opinión esta libre de todo sesgo, y la realizo exclusivamente en base a mi experiencia con la computadora hasta la fecha. Hardware: En cuanto a la parte física o tangibles de esta máquina, tenemos que se percibe una excelente calidad en cuanto materiales de construcción de la misma. Presenta ergonomía, su teclado es excelente en cuanto al tacto y uso del mismo, además de estar retroiluminado. En cuanto a su pantalla, hace honor a una imagen clara, nítida, de un acabado brillante la cual hace de las misma considerarla aún más premium. Cuenta con una Pantalla táctil, FHD. Con relación al lector de huellas digitales, aún no he podido utilizarlo a plenitud, por lo tanto, no puedo dar una opinión del mismo. Software: A la fecha mi experiencia ha sido intermedia (pondría 3.5 a 4 estrellas), pues cuenta con un Hardware excelente, y aparentemente un software también. Mi elección por esta opción, fue por las excelentes características con que cuenta esta máquina. *No obstante, considero que la laptop es ligeramente lenta teniendo en cuenta las características de las mismas. (Tanto en su inicio, como en las búsquedas en páginas Web). Pues no se siente la fluidez de navegar por los buscadores, o iniciar las páginas. En Conclusión, la laptop cuenta con un acabado premium, excelente imagen en la pantalla, y un impactante sonido, con la cual hasta el momento estoy satisfecho con la misma. * Pero en cuanto a rapidez, No es lo que buscaba. Es por eso que aconsejo sí buscan un pc súper rápida tomen en cuenta que el disco duro sea exclusivamente SSD, fuera de eso.... es una excelente elección. Nota: No incluye Mouse, aunque esto no es necesario, ya que su pantalla es táctil. Anexo Imagen. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ACTUALIZACION: 17/05/2020. Hace unos días la PC presente varios inconvenientes, y se ralentiza aún más de lo acostumbrado. Actualmente ha dejado de funcionar, por lo que busco la forma de ejercer la garantía del producto. Decepcionado con el producto. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ACTUALIZACION: 28/5/2020. A 6 meses de haber adquirido este producto, su Disco Duro dejo de funcionar, como la garantía fuera de EEUU no aplica (Según DELL), tuve que desembolsar el equivalente a U$ 180.00 para la reposición del disco duro e instalación del sistema operativo.     • Fast, reliable, lightweight
I really like the Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series. This is my second one and is much lighter than my 3 year old one. They run well, no issues to deal with. This particular configuration is fast, more memory and features than I need for both work and personal use. My only complaint is that the backlit keyboard makes it difficult to read the key letters/numbers/words during the day. ... show more

    • Disappointed! do NOT, i repeat do NOT buy this!!!!!
Less then a year old and it keeps telling me that I need to use the right plug or the battery won't charge. I am using the plug that came with the laptop so there shouldn't be an issue. I don't know anything about computers really but I do know you should be able to use the plug that comes with it and have it work properly. I also have other things that pop up on the screen on the bottom that don't make sense. I keep everything updated and have virus protection. I'm very disappointed in this laptop. I had my last one for years with no issues and had to replace because it was a windows 7. ... show more

The Dell laptop I purchased from Cardinal Pro Electronics was sold to me as NEW. However, when the hard drive failed in less than 8 months and I attempted to send it to Dell for warranty repair, I was told the hard drive was 3rd party and the warranty was void - sticking me with a $150 repair bill + tax! The laptop was not new but a refurbished one passed off as new!!! ... show more
