Description

This adjustable beam floor lamp by daylight24 offers brighter and whiter natural daylight so you can see colors as they truly are with improved contrast and clarity. Instead of incandescent yellow colored light, this type of lighting allows you the benefits of being outside on a beautiful day. The adjustable beam LED floor lamp has a unique pull shade that adjusts the beam of light from 3-Inch to 33-Inch at a distance of 12-Inch. As the light beam reduces in size, the light output intensity increases. Floor lamp has an adjustable gooseneck so you can position the light where you need it. Lamp is in a brushed steel finish with an on/off toggle switch. Uses one 5-Watt high output LED bulb that is housed by a anodized aluminum shade. Lamp stands 65-Inch tall. Patent pending. My wife does a lot of knitting. She is really good at it, but she has trouble counting stitches and dropping stitches once in a while as she has trouble seeing with the lamps we have in the house. But no more! This DAYLIGHT task light is simply awesome. As they said, it can be focused to a 3 inch spotlight, or spread to a two or three foot wide area light, just by slipping the lens down or up on the adjustment cylinder. The adjustment is one of those things that surprised me: It isn't threaded, or pneumatic, or anything fancy. The focusing lens housing simply slips up and down on the gooseneck cylinder because it is slightly bigger. I pointed it straight down to see if it would slip under the weight, but it stays exactly where I left it. As far as the base is concerned, it is quite heavy and sits like a squatting Bhudda statue on our medium pile rug. To kick this thing around you would have to break a toe, and I don't understand folks who said it wasn't heavy enough. Comments on other reviewers' complaints: WEIGHT OF THE BASE: Like I said, the base is quite heavy and gives excellent stability, even on pile carpet SPREAD OF LIGHT FOR READING: ? Three feet isn't enough? It is for me. Even a newspaper gets a good coverage, unless you are within less than two feet of the light itself. POLE SEGMENT THREADING: Mine fit perfectly from top to bottom. I started at the bottom, pulling the wire out as I screwed in each segment. Went together easily and fit perfectly. OVERALL STABILITY: Mine is very stable and the threaded sections appear to stay together just fine. Of course, I don't make a habit of kicking or banging the lamp a lot, any more than I would a table lamp, but my unit is very tight and secure. POWER SWITCHES/CONNECTIONS: There is a metal toggle switch on the back of that lump you see in the photo, where the gooseneck attaches to the pole, and there is an inline power connector about two feet from the base of the lamp. The power connector is fairly solid but you must remember that it can become disconnected if you pull at it. The toggle switch is mounted in metal and is solid. I have no problems with the unit we received. So. I must conclude that the manufacturer listened to his customers and corrected all the problems, or a few folk got units that missed getting a quality control inspection. Either way, by purchasing this via Amazon, it is guaranteed to work properly and be of good quality or Amazon will send you another one or refund your purchase price. That's good enough for me. Reasonably priced. Well made. Light beam focuses from a wide beam angle to a very tight small beam. As bright as i needed it to be. The base is sufficiently. heavy to keep it stable. it is almost as tall as I needed but wish the goose neck was about 12” longer for my particular needs. This lamp is ideal where you want a focused beam. I have it next to my husband's recliner and it bends over his chair giving him enough light to read or use his tablet. It provides plenty of light and has an easy on-off switch that is readily accessible. The base is fairly small so it doens't need a lot of room and can be positioned close to a chair. The gooseneck is flexible enough that you can focus it just where you want it. The lamp arrived on time and well packaged. Also it was very easy to assemble. Floor disc has some weight so lamp will not tip over. From the floor to where the flexible neck begins is 48". This is very important if you are placing the light between a headboard and the wall. For me the fit was perfect. The on/off toggle switch is 43" off the floor. This allows for easy access as it clears my headboard by 6". Some lamps have the switch at the base or further down the pole. The flexible neck is 15" long. This allows the light to be aimed any where you want.. There is a hood at the end of the flexible neck and around the bulb which is 3" long. This hood slides down about 1/2" to narrow the beam or back to broaden it. This is neither complicated nor difficult. The light is extremely bright so you may not want the narrowest beam all the time but it is great for fine print. When you slide the hood back the light is still more than bright enough to read by. This allows you to read with an extremely bright light without disturbing anyone else. In addition you may extend the flexible neck straight up and the light will reflect off of a light colored ceiling and provide enough diffused light to allow you to walk around without bumping into anything but not bright enough to read by. Light bulb is not replaceable but life is estimated at 20 years. If I get 10 I will be more than satisfied. Also wattage used is low. I compared the stats/price on 4 or 5 lights and for what I got the price ($131) is reasonable. After using the light for 2 days I ordered a second one for my girlfriend. Pros: The lamp arrived well packed in multiple pieces. It was quite easy to assemble, has nice lines and the metal is a rich, warm color that works well in an autumn-toned room. The light is also excellent, both in tone and flexibility regarding how tight or diffuse one prefers the beam to be. Cons: The metal pole is comprised of a few tubes that screw into each other without anything provided to stabilize the finished stack. In other works the pole sections could loosen and potentially come apart if the lamp is moved or bumped into. Also, the plug is quite large, so cannot be slipped inconspicuously under a rug for use in a floor socket. While I don't see it as an heirloom purchase, it is a terrific looking and functioning reading lamp for the price. ... show more
