I did a lot of research before buying from this vendor, and the quality is likely superior for the following reasons: Metal propeller. Other products have a plastic prop and include a backup one, which is a red flag to me Propeller protector. That seems like a nice add-on Adjustable handle. This upgrade works very well. 4-stroke. Allowed on more lakes, less pollution, no mixing oil and gas Other reviews mentioned customer service, I had a question and they answered promptly and thoroughly It is also taller than some other engines in the same price range Nothing has broken and it runs great so far! It's definitely a budget product, so I don't expect it to work as well as a $1000 Honda motor, but it gets the job done! Edit after a summer of (ab)use: The propeller protector broke off. The engine also randomly skips or sputters, so I'm guessing it just needs to get tuned up or something, which I won't do. I literally dumped this engine in the water a few times and it still runs fine. The throttle spring is now loose so sometimes the engine won't slow down completely. Overall it's very reliable and won't break down, which is very nice to have with a four-stroke in this price range. If you aren't as concerned about reliability, you could look for a similar price range for a used four-stroke that would require more maintenance, and probably give better performance. If you want something cheap and reliable with almost zero maintenance, this is your motor. It's so nice to have this new reliable motor that's cheap enough to not worry if I destroy it. ... show more

What a great little outboard motor much more powerful than our Suzuki 2.5 which we blew up and weighs a lot less so far so good started right up

Bought in '23, tried it out a few times in a 55gl garbage can and it worked OK, stored it outside since then and just like that the thing burn up on its own on 9'24. Luckily I was at home and notice a burning smell and ran downstairs to the garden and douse the fire out. Flames burned aprox. $1000 worth of stuff that was close by. It was a foggy 58 deg. day when this happen ... show more

I received a unit with a slight issue. I was very upset at first, but then when I let it be known, I was contacted. I have NEVER had customer service care this much about me or my experience. All was made right, and ironically my friend bought this same motor and his performs flawlessly. I love how simple it is, and the fact that we don't need heavy batteries cutting our trips out to the everglades short. Small tank of gas and memories for life.     • Great lil motor
I purchased this mother for a 10’ bass raider. The motor is plenty strong enough to pus the boat. Great mpg. Easy start and was easy to assemble. However I really had my doubts about the U handle design. Well the u handle sucks. After getting the boat in the water and getting it started, I began to navigate the Navasota River. I made it about ten feet when the motor turned on its own because of the swiveling design of the handle. The boat was running in circles while I tried to turn it off. I made a rubber shim and put in the housing so not to damage the shaft, and made it fixed instead of swivel. Now it works great. The basket for the prop is junk, it fell apart on the way to the river while trailering the boat. Yes the motor was tied down securely. Just a joke of a shield. Other that the two miner issues the lil motor is awesome and for the price it’s really awesome. ... show more

    • This little Cukusin Model 144 works well. Customer Support is Outstanding!
Shipping was quick. The light weight 4hp Cukusin Model 144 was shipped quickly. The plastic engine shroud and a few other items were damaged in shipping. Cukusin customer support worked with me to get all issues resolved. Put it on a 2 man Craftsman Crawdad boat. On the first trip out, we were able to maneuver to some prime fishing spots along the river. We caught over 30 fish that day. The motor pushed the boat upriver adequately.
