My reviews assume an average item is 3 stars. Additional stars given for value, perks, etc. and stars lost for poor quality, design, etc. So this is functional, and the muddler is light, but sturdy. It is easy to use and clean. If it were the muddler alone, I would probably give it 5 stars. However, the spoon seems cheaply made, the actual head of the spoon is a little small. The fork end has weird blunt tines, almost like a toddler's utensil. I would have been happy with just the muddler at this price, so I was tempted to consider the spoon a "freebie" and not count it against the rating, but they specifically sell it as a set, so there you go. ... show more

The muddler is very sturdy and easy to hold, although the plastic part came slightly scratched. Nothing major, the product works perfectly. The spoon is long enough to be used with any cocktail glass or pincher, unless you make party-size cocktails in a very deep jug; moreover, it feels very stiff and doesn't bend at all. However, I would have preferred a more pronounced twist in the central part, with more threads per unit length (shorter thread pitch), since it would produce better stirring. ... show more

This muddler has two major advantages. The length is 10” (25.4 cm), rather than the more common 8” (20 cm). This means that it can be used to muddle in a standard-sized shaker without bruising your knuckles (see photo). The muddler also has a rough plastic end, rather than a smooth one (like the wooden muddler shown in the photograph has), which makes it much more effective. In addition to using this muddler to crush cocktail ingredients (like Maraschino cherries, orange slices, and mint), I have also been using it to crush garlic – which turns out to be very effective. I expect that I will find other uses in the kitchen, as well. The muddler also comes with a 10-inch-long (~25 cm) spoon that can be used for stirring, and this mixing spoon has a small fork at the other end (shown in the photo), which is handy for garnishes like olives or small onions. These tools are reported to be dishwasher safe, and this seems to be true. That’s how I’ve been washing them.     • Great Muddler. Surprising Spoon!

I got this because I had been using a spoon to muddle my herbs and fruits. This is a thousand times better than using whatever you might have in your silverware drawer. Ever since 2020, we had been making a lot of our own cocktails at home and I can't believe I had gone this long without having a real muddler. The bar spoon is smaller than I expected (the actual spoon part not the length) but it's worked out better for me than my larger spoons when it comes to sliding it around a tight glass with ice in it. We use this set when making old fashioned drinks at home. The spoon is useful but the muddler is the star of the show! The ribbed head bites easily into cherries and makes muddling effortless. 10" is the perfect length when making tall drinks. This is the muddler to get!
