    • You may have to alter the jet on this carb for your engine.
On my engine, this carb works good as long as the choke is fully on, which by the way allowed the throttle to be turned up past normal giving a faster mower speed. But I'm sure it's not good to continue running it like that. Will change to a larger diameter main jet, or drill it out larger. The jet in that carb is too small for my engine making it run lean which is why the choke was needed to richen up the fuel air charge. ... show more

This was an extremely cheap alternative to the carb for this 13hp tecumseh so I was ready to make any alterations needed. Unfortunatly the gas line comes out front and this motor has an oil filter right there in front of it. Traits why I used a 90 degree brass fitting to drop the fuel line to a filter, then to a shutoff valve and finally the tank. This route was shorter than going over the filter and around the motor. I used it right away and that was fine. Two weeks later the carb seized up a little even though I cutoff the gas to it. I guess the remaining fuel clogged it a little. Cleaning it was easy with the pull bar though so I think I like these new designs. I just expected it to not clog up with no fuel and I cover my mower now. Maybe I'll try making sure no fuel is in the carb between cuts and see if that stops it from clogging. ... show more

I have to replace the carb on my mower every year or so due to the ethanol in current gasoline destroying the seal on the pickup. This unit bolted right on and starts at the tap of the key. Highly recommended.

Very cheaply made. the choke plate is just held in by clamping pressure. It ran a bit lean but worked better than the one replaced.
