I really enjoy all the Pinaud Clubman shaving products. They remind me of going to old barber shops in the 1960s and 1970s. The fragrance for all their aftershave is clean and manly. Not sweet or overpowering. I have purchased about ten of the Pinaud Clubman aftershave. They are all good. This Vanilla fragrance is very mild. I do not really notice the vanilla scent. But my girlfriend does and she likes it a lot. The fragrance has a short staying power of maybe 30 minutes. The initial smell is the alcohol of the aftershave, but that disappears quickly so the other notes remain. ... show more

To describe the scent is difficult. I wouldn't really call it vanilla, but more of a non-floral sweet smell like fresh Krispy Kreme doughnuts with a touch of a light spicy aftertone. It's subtle, but strong. Essentially, it lasts all day long and the scent definitely will catch the nose of whoever you walk by, but the scent doesn't linger and and hang in the room. Everyone will smell it and love it (I've never known anyone not to like this scent), but it's just enough for a small sample smell and then it's gone. It always surprises me when someone comments on how good it smells, but I can no longer smell it myself. That's what makes this the perfect aftershave! Of course it makes your face feel great after a shave just like every Clubman product. This Clubman scent is dangerous (in more ways than one)! I was out of town the first time I tried this scent and came home really late after a long flight. The first thing my wife said to me after spending days apart was "Wow! You smell great!" I was shocked that she could even smell it as I walked by her on my way in. It had been over 12 hours since I had put it on. She couldn't stay away from me for wanting to smell me (unusual, but a plesent surprise)! So this stuff works great after a shave, but even better at bringing in your lady a little closer! But a word of warning to you guys (and spouses too I guess) this stuff unfortunately has the same effect on all ladies. It didn't take long, after wearing this in the office a few days, one of the ladies came in for a closer smell and asked "Oh my goodness, what are you wearing? It smells amazing!" Then it started... All of the other ladies in the office started chiming in with statements like "I know, I've been smelling him all week and can't stop! I love the way he smells!" It went on and on from all of them. I must say, it actually started to make me feel a little uncomfortable. So you married guys, be careful. Nice and clean scent that lasts for most of the day, but is not overwhelming. Cools any razor burn out immediately. Dunno why they call it Vanilla--as it's not really. It is a good masculine clean scent.

I think this is a good product with a very slight vanilla scent. I do not like it as much as the original. It also does not last as long as the original. When I use the original sent it last almost all day. This vanilla scent last for maybe two hours at best.
