I bought this for my husband who absolutely panics if our kids even get choked up on their drinks let alone food. Working in nursing I don’t panic but was super worried he wouldn’t know what to do if I wasn’t around so I bought this. It came quickly and was exactly what I was looking for. The quality is very nice and it’s super easy to use! My 8 year old knows how to use it just in case and she can do it without any help at all!!! Purchased this as we have a 7, 8, and two twin newborns and felt it'd be good to have on hand. We thankfully have never needed to use it, however, we keep it handy in our kitchen in case of an emergency. I tested this on myself and it seems to have great suction. I hope I never have to use this but it seems very good quality at a value price. It’s worth having one of these in every home.

    • Life saving idea.
Every home, and even car should have one of these. I got this particular one for my elderly parents. If the first time pulling the obstruction out, it easily can repeat the job. Like a toilet plunger, it is easy to keep trying if the first attempt fails. For the elderly, that can be the difference between life and death. Even young people can screw up and not do the right thing with the proper seal or whatever. If something gets lodged in the throat, it may require multiple attempts. Im very happy I got one of these for my parents. Something they would probably never get for their own use. You can get one though. I even installed the right size mask to the machine and left it for them to place it near the kitchen. When seconds count, 911 may be impossible to dial, or even hit speed dial. These days they can be too busy to make it to where they are needed. I don't feel like gambling with that happening. ... show more

It's difficult to really say cause I can't just test it out unless my child chokes which I hope doesn't happen but it feels like a good solid product I did put it on my chest and push it the air went out the top of the handle so it definitely won't for air down the person's throat which is good and when I pulled it away from my chest like you would if you are using it it had enough suction that it left a red outline of the mask on my skin so I do believe it will suck an obstruction out of a person's throat so I feel like it's a must have for emergency just like having a 1st aid kit you dont want to use it but your glad you have it when you need it ... show more
