I have four kids between the ages of 3 and 8. Fortunately I have not had to use this, but it gives me peace of mind just having it in the house. It’s really quite a simple device… basically a plunger for your face. It has 3 different size masks that cover the mouth and nose. They’re very soft so that they can conform to the face and make a good seal. There’s a one-way valve so that as you push the handle in it doesn’t force air into the person’s airways and push the obstruction further in. Pull the handle and it creates suction to dislodge whatever they’re choking on. Performance is great- it makes serious suction if you try it on your hand. Great for the price, great quality. Luckily i haven’t had to use this yet but as an EMT I STRONGLY recommend having one of these on hand if you have small children.

Every home, and even car should have one of these. I got this particular one for my elderly parents. If the first time pulling the obstruction out, it easily can repeat the job. Like a toilet plunger, it is easy to keep trying if the first attempt fails. For the elderly, that can be the difference between life and death. Even young people can screw up and not do the right thing with the proper seal or whatever. If something gets lodged in the throat, it may require multiple attempts. Im very happy I got one of these for my parents. Something they would probably never get for their own use. You can get one though. I even installed the right size mask to the machine and left it for them to place it near the kitchen. When seconds count, 911 may be impossible to dial, or even hit speed dial. These days they can be too busy to make it to where they are needed. I don't feel like gambling with that happening. ... show more

I tested this on myself and it seems to have great suction. I hope I never have to use this but it seems very good quality at a value price. It’s worth having one of these in every home.

Product seems easy to use. Thank god we haven't had to use it yet. But it is very recommended to have in a diaper bag, car etc at all times.

Very glad I purchased this, I have grandchildren and want to be able to help them. It needs to be pushed down with some force and would not have known that if I did not try to first on a baby doll. I hesitated on buying for a long time, then I read that it does NOT push any air in the passageway it blows out the side. This is a must have for EVERY home. ... show more
