I really needed additional nesting boxes for my Hens. Picked this for the price and the solid reviews. Instructions for assembly are IKEAish at best. Luckily it's not terribly difficult to figure out. Once it's put together, the thing feels pretty solid. That red pops really nice too.

Was easy to assemble yes it was just pictures but if you look carefully you can assemble with ease without doing it backwards first. I assembled it in less than an hour. So easy to use and clean. Chickens like it well enough to lay eggs. But the eggs aren't rolling forward due to my hens insisting on bedding before laying but that will change when I get new layers I expect. Mostly wanted the easy clean tray part. Took a while for my girls to adapt from the bucket style I had to these but wow I love them. So easy to clean collect and comfy. Worth the cost, although I do wish it was cheaper lol ... show more

Now I get all of the eggs and they get none. When they are in the nest box though they scratch and scratch and if I put something in there for them to scratch the eggs won’t roll away

    • Not functional and bad assembly directions , not clear and just wrong.

My husband and I are accomplished mechanics tool maker and builders. Once I figured out the instruction were incomplete and not correct in their assembly drawing. I got them assemble quickly. The trays for the hens to enter the hole the tray flips up. Even pushed in till they click in the back. So I am making additional support so the tray the hens sit in do not flip up as soon as their weight touches the entrance, thus no sliding back out the front. Then they will be great easy to keep clean, no bedding needed. Just not engineered and tested with real birds. I do understand production engineers cut safety features on a product to save on production cost. Most customers could not and should not have to resolve this. ... show more

I wasn’t expecting much but this is perfect quality on fit and finish and a great value. No sharp edges and everything fit perfectly. I can’t collect eggs everyday and my eggs were always a mess and then we had an egg eater. Was getting maybe four eggs a week. Bought this as a last resort and now I’m getting 23 eggs in the same time and they are clean. I put it in the same spot as their old box and they took to it within a couple days. They don’t seem to mind the plastic floor. Put it lower than their roost bar and they won’t sleep in it. I only wish it had legs because it’s a little difficult setting it up on a couple cinder blocks. I enjoy my chickens again and may end up buying another one with some more chickens. All the parts were in the box no damage to anything. The instructions are not supper helpful but the video here on Amazon is. Went together in 10 minutes only a screwdriver needed. And maybe a knife for all the plastic wrap. Honestly as long as my ladies like it I’ll buy another one.
