It has good ground clearance and power enough to work in the desert terrain. Battery lasts long and second battery gets charged and is ready to go when the first one dies. The optional sound and lights features are a fun bonus. I challenge you to find a nine year old boy that wouldn't love this.

The media could not be loaded. As the title says, the truck keeps turning left, unable to travel straight, which is a sign of defect. The bottom piece that secures the battery was also broken. I think it would be a nice toy if it worked well. I just happened to get a bad one it seems. It’s a hassle for me to return it as well, so I’ll suck up the loss. I bought this car because I like VW Bugs, lol. I build and race hobby grade vehicles, but I had to have this in my collection. It's not hobby grade, but it's fun for younger kids. The body is solid, good quality. The chassis seems strong. The battery is very small, I can't imagine it would last very long. I never drove it, I could be wrong on this. This car is NOT kid friendly. Screws must be removed to change the batteries in both the controller and the car itself. The screws are so small that the manufacturer supplies a screwdriver with the car. Every time the car is turned on for playtime, the controller and the car must be "paired" in order to work. Pairing only takes 30 seconds to complete, an eternity for kids and they don't want to wait. I truly regret buying this remote controlled car. ... show more
