It is somewhat inconvenient if your unable to step over as you have to basically remove the whole gate and then reinstall. That was something I didn't take into consideration when purchasing. Let my experience be a lesson for future purchaser of this doggie gate. It's crap. The video makes it look like a snap to put into place and sliding the gate to enlarge or shrink the area. Not so. While I was trying to expand it I thought: Why isn't this an Olympic sport? It took effort. And the lock is also rather poorly designed. I had trouble repeatedly trying to lock the gate in place. Further, good luck trying to align the cups and the gate against the door frame. Again, the video makes it look like a breeze when, in fact, mastering structural engineering would probably be easier. But, then again, what was I expecting for $25 dollars? ... show more

This gate was very easy to install. I didn't realize that I had to screw in 4 rubber pads that the bumpers on the gate fit into, but with careful measuring, that was a cinch. The gate is very lightweight and easy to put in place and tighten. When in place it is very secure. I did not want a gate with a door because I knew in time I would trip over the base rod! This is the perfect solution. Especially for the price, I highly recommend this gate. Update on gate - still really like it but ... my squatty-body pit mix did manage to climb over it in and out of the kitchen! ... show more
