  • Perfect for our needs...
This is a high-quality product. Sturdy. We use it to get power to our RV when at home. Our RV has 50amp service and this adaptor will connect to a 120V outlet. At first I had some concern...50amp to 15amp...? But it works great. We don't run the AC, just the lights and refrigerator. Plus, the design has the two prongs on top and the ground prong below, so it hangs straight down from the outlet. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Very important part of our gear
We use this dog bone every time we start out on a trip. We do not have a 50 amp outlet at our home accessible to the RV, so we get hooked up to 15/20 amp to get the fridge cold, change up the battery, and move slides in and out if necessary. Works great for our needs.

  • Allows me to run the fridge in my motor home while parked in my driveway
This Camco RV Dogbone Electrical Adapter with Innovative 180 Degree Bend Design and PowerGrip Handle - 15 Amp Male to 50 Amp Female, 12" (55168) allows me to plug my 50 amp motor home into a regular 15 amp 110 volt outlet when the RV is parked in my driveway. While I can't run the air conditioner (due to the amp draw of the air conditioner which would pop my 15 amp breaker, not a limitation of the adapter), I can keep our residential refrigerator running and also keep the coach and chassis batteries charged. Since between the fridge and the charging circuit the coach can draw quite a few amps, I appreciate the 10/3-gauge wire in the adapter. I like that the 90 degree bend design removes stress from the regular outlet and the handle design on the 50 amp female end makes it easier to unplug the 50 amp male power cable from the adapter. This is a quality cable all around. ... show more

  • Easy to use good value for the money, saved my bacon until I hooked up the proper service.
Worked as expected. Kind of a lot of lewd. To put on a household Outlet socket day. Starting to from overloading the circuit. No fault of the product though, I would think.

  • Great purchase for the cross country traveler
Great purchase for the cross country traveler. I recently pulled my 41' fifth wheel from NC to CA. Long, long drive. But enough about me. I bought this because I had dead batteries to start out my journey and my truck just wouldn't keep up with charging the fully dead batteries and running the refrigerator. I didn't have the luxury of hooking up my trailer for a day before I took off, otherwise dead batteries wouldn't have been an issue. I actually used this when I stayed overnight at a hotel and Flying J truckstop. The hotel was nice enough to point me to an exterior outlet close enough to park my fifth wheel. The truckstop actually had shore power (first time I had experienced this) and simply plugged in. I also bought a 100' extension cord for those hard to reach places (like at the hotel). Be careful when purchasing the extension cord, the cord must be rated for at least 15 amps (same as the plug) to avoid any issues. I believe this is a must-have for cross country travel and for storage. My fully charged batteries were able to run my fridge overnight and during the 12+ hours of driving if I did not plug in, but this allows for a backup plan if you can find an outlet. This dogbone also serves as a maintenance charger when the trailer is not in use for any period of time. ... show more

  • Great product
Plug was exactly what I needed. Camco is always quality product as I have purchased items before. This is not a popular adapter to use but for plugging my toy hauler into a normal 110v house plug it worked great. It ran my a/c but I believe that's only because plug I used has it's own 30amp breaker (I ran it straight off breaker box so it was only thing plugged in). I don't think it'll run and a/c with 20amp breaker. ... show more
