  • Sounds great, built well, affordable.
I am a guitar player. Not a bass player. Was invited to play with some friends on short notice and needed something cheap and quick. Showed up on time and working great. No hum or unwanted noise even with multiple effects earlier in the chain. Actually really impressed how good it sounds even though a practice amp. Haven’t tried the DI out yet but so far it exceeds my expectations compared to other budget pedals I’ve owned. ... show more

  • Worthy competition for the Behringer BDI21
The Behringer BDI21 is pretty well known as a cheap pedal with a lot of bang for your buck. I've had one for years, although it hasn't seen much use lately since I got a better amp. This pedal fills the same niche with two important differences: true bypass and a metal body. I was playing a gig where I needed to be able to add some drive without messing with my amp knobs and I didn't want to add the buffered bypass of the Behringer, so I thought I'd give this a shot. For a quick 'n' dirty and relatively cheap solution, it worked perfectly well, although I don't think it will have a permanent place on my pedalboard as I'd rather devote that space to something with a more aggressive drive or fuzz. From a sound standpoint, it's fine. The drive wasn't as aggressive as I wanted even though cranking it up gave me a little more hum than I expected. The hi/lo/harmonics knobs do what you'd expect. I've used the Behringer as a standalone pedal just to warm up the sound on my small practice amp that is kind of dead-sounding by itself, and I think the Caline would work just as well for that. I haven't done a head-to-head sound comparison between the two, though. From a build standpoint, the Caline is a significant step up. The plastic case of the Behringer is surprisingly sturdy but this is a step up. I dislike the Behringer knobs which are small and hard to see. The Caline knobs are much better and the the footswitch feels better too. I have not tested the DI function of this as I have DI built into my main amp, but I noticed that there is no ground lift on the Caline like there is on the Behringer. ... show more

  • Excellent addition
This pedal is perfect for usage in our band. The sound is hot, easy to contour, and does not distort. Multiple outs are a huge plus. Highly recommended. PROS - Sturdy Easy-to-use XLR and 1/4" outputs Great sound CONS - A little bulky but understandably so. Great price for the gear. Gives extra presence and punch for basses that get lost in the mix. ... show more

  • Good basic bass DI and amp sim
Kind of like a Sans Amp. Works great for direct recording via xlr into interface. Also works great in front of a bass amp as a pre amp. Haven’t tried it live.

  • Just okay.
Well packed, well built, sturdy, and looks cool. I just didn't find that it did anything interesting to my tone so I returned it.

  • Does what it's supposed to!
I bought this to replace the AMP at our church. This one is easy to use and sounds great. The price can't be beat. Is it the best value? Yes. This amp/pedal does what I need it to.

  • No need for a Bass amp now
I plug right in to the PA system with this bypassing my amp entirely. For the price, this is the best pedal to add some harmonics and EQ. While this isnt exactly an IR pedal, it adds enough options for my needs since I do not own a bass amp. My only complaint is the lack of a 9v battery internally, this is funky to have a battery outside of the unit. Price considering, this is worth it since I leave it plugged into a 9v charger. ... show more

  • Good recording preamp for bass
Having survived the shipping experience and smashed carton, the Caline CP-60 Wine Cellar bass driver made it through the ordeal. I purchased this as a bass preamp for going into my Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 and DAW for my home studio. It delivers and works great for that purpose. It gives a bass tone lots of character and it was easy to dial in a nice sound with 4 different basses. (Jazz, Precision, Bronco, Bass VI.) The range of the tone controls feels like it is only +/- 12dB. But, that is sufficient. The drive adds a little edge. I recommend it for any home studio. ... show more
