  • Best quality sound absorption panels on Amazon
These are hands down the best sound absorption panels on Amazon. I moved into a really noisy, old pre 1950 apartment. I normally wouldn’t care, but suddenly my job wants me to work from home. I can hear my neighbors talking below me and to the right of me. I don’t want them to hear me talking to customers over the phone! So I spent many hours and sleepless nights researching soundproofing. Now I’m an expert. Sound travels through the air in all directions. Think of it like smoke. Smoke will go in all direction looking for a way out of your room (or into your room). Smoke will bounce off your walls and ceilings and funnel it’s way out of the cracks in your doors and windows. Same concept with sound. Sound absorption panels have little pores in them, so that the sound doesn’t bounce but gets absorbed. So you can scatter them if you want, or you can put the panels right next to each other for maximum effect. I bought almost every brand of sound panels available on Amazon, because I was in a hurry to get my room soundproofed before I had to start work from home. I was just looking for the best deals, whatever was on sale. I can tell you this: The cheap panels, are worthless. Might as well just tape bath towels on your wall. Dekiru is an upgrade from the cheap panels. I was buying massive amounts of dekiru while they were on sale. But honestly dekiru is just a small upgrade from the cheap panels. Especially when compared to Bubos. Bubos is the Rolls Royce of sound absorption panels. They are thicker, more dense, better finish, brighter colors, deeper bevel than dekiru. Density is important when it comes to sound absorption. It determines how much sound it can actually absorb. The other qualities I mentioned, means that the bubos panels simply look better when installed on your walls. Using the orange, white, and purple panels, I was able to make a LA Lakers themed wall. I’m sure with their color choices you could do the same for your team of choice. I know these work, because I would put up several tiles a night and each night things got quieter. I could hear my tv more clearly. I can no longer hear the neighbors. The biggest culprit will be your windows and doors (for sound coming in). I weatherproof sealed both, and I put bubos panels on my doors. I use the 3M mounting tape (buy the rolls it is better value than the precut squares), and put 5 squares on the back of the panel. 4 corners and 1 in the middle. The dekiru panels... you literally have to place panel and press down with all your strength for 30 seconds for it to stick. If you dont press the middle down, the middle wants to “pop” back out and unstick itself. It’s characteristic of cheap quality (although dekiru is better than the cheap ones... the cheap ones are not even worth it). However the bubos panels, just align where you want, and place it and it sticks. I push for like 5 seconds just in case. That’s because the bubos panels are good quality. It feels like thick wooden tiles, but made from the fabric sound absorbing material, super dense. But they feel like wooden tiles, but can also bend if your wall is lumpy like mine. All the other panels feel like hairy, cheap, cardboard, that don’t want to stick to your walls. They start to unstick and fall off, and you have to redo the tape, and press with all your might for beyond 30 seconds and hope that it sticks. The Bubos panels adhesion is so strong, with the same amount of tape. I know this because when I needed to rearrange some panels when I try to take off it has a nice grip and takes some force to take off. This is after just 5 seconds of holding firm. Oh and dekiru just has boring gray/white/black themed colors. The main reason I stumbled upon bubos because I wanted some vibrant colors. Glad I tried them. 100% would recommend. You won’t be disappointed. And their customer service is amazing too. ... show more

  • They work for sound absorption and look great!
Size: 36-Pack Color: White
These are for sound absorption not sound-proofing. The entire Industry uses these terms interchangeably as though they mean the same thing. They do not! Sound-proofing will cost you thousands of dollars and you will have to tear apart your walls and ceiling... An acoustic pro should do it. If you live in an Apartment complex-No way. They are effective at absorbing sound, with a tested NRC of .95 they are close to the best for easy sound absorping tasks and installation. In the USA apartment complexz are painted an off white, sickly looking color. I completely covered my room in these and they look great. They are a crytalline white(I dont know why someone wrote blue-if that color is blue then it is better than white!) and have texture to them. I would do the whole apartment but it is not necessary. I used 136 for a large room but I placed them exactly like I tiled the entire place completely with no spaces. The other thing is the nano-tape stickers are the best. I tried the black 3M stickers(dont do it) and other tapes, nano-tape and strong 3M VHB tape and Wotec(Wotec is the better than all except the stickers supplied or sold by Bubos). The reasons are 1-The other tapes(except Wotec) will take forever and drive you nuts trying to remove the plastic and then they will be stuck to your fingers like glue or the Black 3m stickers will come apart easy but have fallen off my ceilin. The Bubos stickers come apart easy and they are as powerful as the nano-tapes and the 3m tape. They are also very thin but cut in large squares. They work well. Finally the customer service is great and if you do not get what you want you will get a refund, at 1st I wanted a refund because I thought sound proofing and sound absorbing are the same thing. They immediatel went to refund me but then I read about it further and realized they would be the best for me and they even sent me a new pack with stickers. 1st, even if you dont buy these(I would choose them over all the others I have checked out) make sure you know the difference between sound proofing and sound absorbing. There are no sound proofing panels-you need Mass loaded vinyl and it goes behind the wall not on top of it and it will cost you gourds of mine and lots of work time to do it ... show more

  • Works pretty well but do not expect a miracle reduction in sound levels
They hold up on the ceiling pretty well when used with the 3M black double sided tape. Make sure you have a box cutter and a 1/2" piece of ply wood to cut on as they will not always line up properly and the edges may need to be trimmed. At first I though that they were not all manufactured exactly to the same size but it ended up being slight curves in the house walls that throw off some off the row alignment lines by 3/8" here and there. The sound dampening works to a satisfactory level, not as good as real thick acoustic foam but it's a good trade off on the looks versus the performance. A couple of suggestions: Wash you hands often when dealing with these tiles. They are almost like white cloth and they will pickup and get stained by any dirt that is on your hands. Keep a white rag and some alcohol nearby. This can clean off most of the marks that may get on the tiles. Really push and hold them in place for like 15 seconds each. The first few I put up dropped off 24 hours later because I did not push them on hard enough and did not wait long enough for the double sided tape to set. I have mine on my solar electrical room ceiling. I needed to dampen out some of the sound of various inverter fans running and also keep some of the daytime heat out. It works ok for those two problems. I noticed a 3 deg-F drop in temp during the day and the sound is about 30% less. Bonus was that it made the room look pretty high tech. ... show more
