  • Best quality sound absorption panels on Amazon
These are hands down the best sound absorption panels on Amazon. I moved into a really noisy, old pre 1950 apartment. I normally wouldn’t care, but suddenly my job wants me to work from home. I can hear my neighbors talking below me and to the right of me. I don’t want them to hear me talking to customers over the phone! So I spent many hours and sleepless nights researching soundproofing. Now I’m an expert. Sound travels through the air in all directions. Think of it like smoke. Smoke will go in all direction looking for a way out of your room (or into your room). Smoke will bounce off your walls and ceilings and funnel it’s way out of the cracks in your doors and windows. Same concept with sound. Sound absorption panels have little pores in them, so that the sound doesn’t bounce but gets absorbed. So you can scatter them if you want, or you can put the panels right next to each other for maximum effect. I bought almost every brand of sound panels available on Amazon, because I was in a hurry to get my room soundproofed before I had to start work from home. I was just looking for the best deals, whatever was on sale. I can tell you this: The cheap panels, are worthless. Might as well just tape bath towels on your wall. Dekiru is an upgrade from the cheap panels. I was buying massive amounts of dekiru while they were on sale. But honestly dekiru is just a small upgrade from the cheap panels. Especially when compared to Bubos. Bubos is the Rolls Royce of sound absorption panels. They are thicker, more dense, better finish, brighter colors, deeper bevel than dekiru. Density is important when it comes to sound absorption. It determines how much sound it can actually absorb. The other qualities I mentioned, means that the bubos panels simply look better when installed on your walls. Using the orange, white, and purple panels, I was able to make a LA Lakers themed wall. I’m sure with their color choices you could do the same for your team of choice. I know these work, because I would put up several tiles a night and each night things got quieter. I could hear my tv more clearly. I can no longer hear the neighbors. The biggest culprit will be your windows and doors (for sound coming in). I weatherproof sealed both, and I put bubos panels on my doors. I use the 3M mounting tape (buy the rolls it is better value than the precut squares), and put 5 squares on the back of the panel. 4 corners and 1 in the middle. The dekiru panels... you literally have to place panel and press down with all your strength for 30 seconds for it to stick. If you dont press the middle down, the middle wants to “pop” back out and unstick itself. It’s characteristic of cheap quality (although dekiru is better than the cheap ones... the cheap ones are not even worth it). However the bubos panels, just align where you want, and place it and it sticks. I push for like 5 seconds just in case. That’s because the bubos panels are good quality. It feels like thick wooden tiles, but made from the fabric sound absorbing material, super dense. But they feel like wooden tiles, but can also bend if your wall is lumpy like mine. All the other panels feel like hairy, cheap, cardboard, that don’t want to stick to your walls. They start to unstick and fall off, and you have to redo the tape, and press with all your might for beyond 30 seconds and hope that it sticks. The Bubos panels adhesion is so strong, with the same amount of tape. I know this because when I needed to rearrange some panels when I try to take off it has a nice grip and takes some force to take off. This is after just 5 seconds of holding firm. Oh and dekiru just has boring gray/white/black themed colors. The main reason I stumbled upon bubos because I wanted some vibrant colors. Glad I tried them. 100% would recommend. You won’t be disappointed. And their customer service is amazing too. ... show more

  • These work great on ceiling if you have noisy upstairs neighbors
I put these on my ceiling to muffle the loud squeaking and stomping from heavy upstairs neighbors and loud tv sounds coming from upstairs. They worked a lot better than I thought they would. The TV was muffled a lot and the really bad squeaking in one spot is down to nothing. The stomping not so much but they dont stomp as much as they used to because of something else i used every time they would. They got the point. These pads not only muffled the sounds coming from upstairs but also give more privacy from your neighbors. I can tell they cant hear me talking like they used to or hear my tv. They always would react when they did. I only used 6 pads on one row even though i planned to put a lot more on 2 spots on the ceiling 12 feet long a 6 feet wide. I wanted to make sure the tape i used didnt damage the paint or the ceiling. I had them up for a couple of months before i had to take them down before company came but put them right back up after they left. And thats when i could tell the real difference. After i put them up the first time all i knew was i wasnt as miserable as i always was sitting in my living room but didnt know exactly how or if they were really working. I used scotch double sided indoor mount tape 15 lbs ones and rubbed the tape a couple times to get some glue off before putting them on the ceiling so they wouldnt stick too hard and maybe take off the paint. Taking them down isnt as easy but as long as you're gentle and be careful they do come off without taking the paint off. I used a plastic knife to gently push in between the pads and the ceiling until could feel the tape loosening. The only problem is some will leave parts of the tape on the ceiling. But since the tape is the same color as most peoples ceilings you cant see whats left on there. Its the ceiling so no ones looking up there you'd have too really squint. As long as you have white ish colored ceilings. Just dont try snatching it off the wall or ceiling. I did that the first time on a different spot and it definitely took a chunk of paint off the ceiling. I just used a youtube video and home depot paint to repaint it. You might wanna cut thin small size tape to the back of them like I did the 2nd time I put them back up... so they'll be easier to put them up or down whenever you want. I only used 6 in one really bad spot even though I bought the 12 pack. If I bought a bunch and put them up either half across the whole ceiling or on the whole ceiling I think it wouldve muffled the sound even better. If you have the same problem with noisy neighbors and dont wanna use these with tape i'd try the foam ones and use tiny pins which you wont notice were on the ceiling after you take them out. One thing about these though is because they're hard stiff boards I think it actually tightens the spot on the ceiling that squeaks and moves up and down every time they step there. The movement is probably why it squeaks so bad and these almost give the ceiling more support. They might not work for you like they did for me but the way i saw it anything was better than nothing. Nothing was making me miserable. They muffle the sound to where you can zone it out or atleast make your space livable. They obviously wont totally get rid of it ... show more

  • Worked Great in specific areas.
Size: Length:12" x 12"(12Pcs) Color: Dark Grey
I put these in the corner of my recording studio and along the roof line. I angled them so they have about a 3 inch air gap. I put them up with alien tape, and recommend doing this if you are renting. Some I put up with a spray glue, because this is my studio, and I am not renting. I angled them across the corners from ceiling to about halfway down the wall. I put a Youtube video up about it call Podcast Studio with Bubos Panels at The Happiness Factory channel. Which is my channel. I wouldn't mind completing the corners to the floor with these. I put them on the ceiling line at an angle in the same fashion, crossing the plane where the ceiling meets the wall so there was an air gap behind the panels on three walls. This was a very effective treatment, and I used the studio the next day for a guest interview, and I have to say this treatment made a very significant impact on the quality of my audio. The Bubos panels look good too, They are really trapping bass, and shut down the reverb frequency in this room. I think If I get about 24 more of these, I could treat the ceiling over the recording table, or finish trapping the corners to the floor. One of the other, and that would probably do my recording studio to completion. I podcast, and work with other sound arts, I dabble in music. And I moved into this house with a room that was perfect for my recording studio, and Bubos was the first panels I tried, and I have a fairly dry room now. Of corse I have to turn the HVAC down so it doesn't kick on and destroy the sound quality of this room. But its a fairly dry room. I'm very pleased with the outcome. I only used two packs. I can have it completely done with another two or three packs. That would be a room that I would call done. They worked very very good when I discovered to give them 3 inch air gap in the corner. I'm happy. And Happiness Matters. ... show more
