Very thin..it sounded like paper. While i was putting it on my brand new full sized mattress i accidentally ripped the tissue paperlike fabric. Now i dont have long nails nor was i being rough while installing the protector and i ripped ANOTHER hole. Boy i was not happy at that point. i still have one more for my other sons new single bed also. I want to save myself frustration and just return for a refund. This is such a poorly made product that I have to do a review. It felt more like paper than fabric so my husband and I very carefully each took a side and began pulling it up our mattress. When we got to the top and had to pull it up one side ripped! Due to the rip we were not able to zip it up. I ordered this online because we are up in the mountains but as soon as I get down into the city I will buy another one and throw this out! ... show more

Bought this for my brother in law and he said it ripped the day after he put it on all the way along the entire seam on one of the long sides. I wasn't there when he put it on the bed but he ensures me he was careful putting it on because it looked thin. I looked at it and it seems as though the seams threads just weren't very strong to begin with. It is a thin fabric too and can be seen through. This may still be perfect for a child or petite adult or in a spare guest room where bed isn't used daily. I can't really recommend it but read others reviews first as, like I said, I wasn't there when it was put on the bed so can't say whether or not it was operator error, faulty cover or poor quality. To me it seemed to look like poor quality but I didn't even touch the fabric to feel of it. I wanted to share my brother in laws review though in case others had the same issue. ... show more

The only problem we had was getting it on 1 of our mattresses. It ripped because it was too tight. The older mattress if fit perfectly. Possibly needed a bigger cover although it should have fit according to the thickness of mattress
