  • For me, game changer
Size: 3.5 lbs Color: Silver
Inexpensive and complete. Used it with a canoe while fishing so I did not drift. Worked great. Hook gkt caught in the nylon rope- was easy to remove. Plating looks good. Highly recommend.

  • A game changer
Size: 3.5 lbs Color: Orange
This review is for the Linkloos Boat Kayak Anchor Kit (40ft Rope) - Orange I've been kayaking for years, and it has always been a bit of a frustrating experience when you want to pause for a break (lunch, snack, rest) and end up floating away with the current. Typically, I have to search for a small alcove or something to move into where I can hang out without floating off. This is especially true when kayaking with another person, as we often rely on each other to retrieve things out of the backs of our 14' kayaks. I also have a small fishing kayak and it's nearly impossible to fish from when you have to constantly readjust. This anchor is EXACTLY what I needed. At just 3.5lbs, it feels heavy but really does not add that much weight to your boat. In fact, it will fit behind my seat. I love that it's coated carbon steel that should not rust quickly. The design of the anchor is like a grappling hook so it can easily fold up but then open to snag the bottom when you wish to stay put. The anchor kit comes with everything you need, too -- a 40ft rope for both deep and shallow water use, as well as a stainless steel fixed snap hook and PP buoy. I can't think of anywhere I kayak where this will not do the trick. This anchor is really well-designed for any small craft use. Finally, I will say that I RARELY kayak in the ocean. However, the ONLY claim for this anchor that I question (or am curious about) is the 'Anti-shark Orange' claim. Night use? Sure. But due to its rarity underwater, the color orange actually acts as a signal to a shark. It contrasts sharply with the surrounding environment, making it easy for sharks to spot. From an online article, "Their attraction to orange isn’t the color but its standout nature against the typical aquatic backdrop. While many colors fade or morph with depth, orange remains relatively consistent. It retains visibility even as one descends further. This constant visibility makes objects or individuals sporting the color particularly noticeable." In other words -- it could actually ATTRACT sharks. But since I kayak mostly in fresh water lakes and rivers, orange is great and this kayak will absolutely make my adventures more enjoyable. AND it's a great value. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Good for paddleboard
Size: 3.5 lbs Color: Green
This anchor is small enough for me to carry in my backpack and use with my inflatable paddleboard. I like to do paddleboard yoga, and you really need to be anchored and not float away. I’m not sure I would use this if it is really wavy in an area or super strong current, but this is super easy to use in my cove at the lake where there is just a slight current. This works for me. Some pluses with this anchor is the multiple spokes with concave tips to grab at the bottom of the lake better. I’m glad it comes in a carrying case that is very durable with a drawstring and not thin material. Other competitors have their anchor bags too thin. Another plus is the nylon rope is already attached. Finally the biggest plus is there is a yellow float on the end with the stainless steel clip so it slips out of my hand or off my board, I don’t lose it to the bottom of the lake forever. I love the bright green color too. Easy to spot in the lake water when bringing it up. For my cove at the lake where there is just a slight current this works for me. ... show more

  • Same as all kayak anchors
Size: 3.5 lbs Color: Sky Blue
3.5lb anchor review First it's a great anchor, it opens and collapses perfectly. So it does it's main job as it should. With that said if you've ever used these anchors a lot then you've most likely had one get stuck in rocks/brush and ended up having to cut the rope and count your loss. After that you research these anchors and find out the "proper" way to tie these anchors is to attach the rope to the bottom hole (at the flanges) and use a small cable zip tie to attach the rope to the top hole (opposite end of flanges). This way if the anchor does because jammed in rocks/brush you can pull to break the small cable zip tie which will cause you to pull on the other end causing the anchor to flip out upside down and allowing it to come out from underneath what ever it's stuck under. Another design I don't like is that you can not remove the rope from anchor without cutting it off, description images have you believe you can untie the knot and that's not the case. You can see this in the pictures (I got two of these to see how painted vs not painted compare). Bottom hole on unpainted is smooth where as painted is jagged and will have to be cleaned up. All these anchors are the same from my experience and I wish just one company would change these issues. Mold the rope to a D shackle that would allow us to put it in the bottom hole if you're going to mold the rope on. ... show more

  • Very strong and robust anchor for such a small package.
Size: 3.5 lbs Color: Green
I just bought a 13' inflatable 2 person kayak and have been looking for a light weight yet strong anchor for when I go out and want to fish or just hang out in one spot for a while. Without an anchor, you would just drift with the current or spend your time paddling to keep position. Been there, did that, no fun. This little anchor is just what I needed. It's small (12"), constructed well, comes with a 40' section of rope and a padded storage bag. A padded bag makes me feel better knowing my kayak is inflatable and it won't accidentally poke a hole in it. The rope is marine grade, so it should last for quite a while. The float will keep the upper end of the rope from falling into the water, should it get dropped for some reason. The stainless steel hook that connects to your watercraft is solid and beefy enough to hold just about any small kayak or canoe without fear of it coming off. The small size and light weight of this anchor makes it ideal for my needs. There's not a lot of room in the kayak with two people and a 100 lb Dobermann in it. There is a weight limit, so lighter is better. It didn't weigh the full 3.5 lbs. It came in at 3 lbs 7 ounces and I'm fine with that. An ounce isn't going to make a difference. It's the quality of the construction and the durability that I'm looking for and this has all of that. The paint job seems to be thick and should keep rust at bay for years. I'm happy as a clam in water with my new anchor. ... show more
