    • Bought this as a gift for my elderly father
This was a birthday gift, something for my dad to do with his hands since his mobility is not limited and he’s 95. I ended up putting it together with my father as he kept on putting it off, LOL! but we worked together on it. It’s fairly well made, though instructions are very lacking/poor and are written in red ink!?! Who does that? It’s intuitive enough that we figured it out on our own. Comes with a couple extra screws in case you need to replace, and 2 different size holes for bird’s entry, so you need to choose which one you want. Once it’s in you would have to take it all apart to replace the hole. I think that should be exchangeable without having to take the birdhouse apart, imho. The paints though are child like colors and brushes, so we left that for great granddaughter to do, as she is 6. It can stay unpainted though if you chose to. Can be hung with a wire that’s provided (not shown how to put in, you have to do that while you put roof together. And there’s a small plate to put on back of house to hang from tree or wall more securely so it won’t dangle. Other than that it came well packaged and in excellent condition, and traveled in the suitcase just fine. It is heavy too so I doubt it’ll break soon. 4 stars because of poor instructions and cheap looking paint colors. Maybe it could’ve had a couple stencils in box to use for sponge like painting, instead of “freelancing” with brushes. Good thing we have a 6 yr old in the house. LOL! I’d probably buy again, but would’ve liked to know about the paints, I could’ve bought something else to add and take with me. ... show more

We have bough a few Bird House kits this year and this has been our favorite. The quality is the best out of the others we have used. It's a real functioning bird house , not just a flimsy "kids" project. The paint worked well and my kids painted each part a different color and then decided to make it look like a brown mess, otherwise I would of shared a picture. I have added this to my personal Christmas list because it really was very pretty and functioning. There honestly is no need to paint because it is so pretty on its own. ... show more
