  • Improved lighting for P1S
I bought this to put on my Bambu Lab P1S since the factory light is subpar. This thing really works well and livens up the printer. This is a very inexpensive upgrade that can be done very easily. It does come with a splitter that would allow you to use the factory light as well, but due to wattage draw, it is not a good idea. This light alone is plenty and really changes the dynamics of the machine. ... show more

  • Simply awesome, MUST HAVE upgrade
The stock X1C light is laughable, hardly lights up the build space through the camera or in person. I tried another light kit that had 3 individual LED strips, and although it produced great light in person, it completely ruined the camera view, just washed everything out... This one however, PREFECT light output. Lights up good in person, and shows AMAZING detail through the camera. The details in dark filament are visible, and the light colors (specifically white) aren't washed out into a giant blurr. It really does hit the lighting sweet spot. The magnets make for a super easy and clean install, the light doesn't get in the way of the tool head in any of its movements (which it really only comes close to it during homing and extrusion calibration). My only gripe is that the wire lead on the light could be just a smidgen longer. I had to use the included splitter as an extension basically to keep tension off the wire when closing the plastic cover. I could probably mount the splitter a little better instead of just "hanging" it where it is, but that's on me, not the light or how it's designed. Not ideal, but it works. I don't plan on trying to run both it and the stock light because A) I don't really see the need after seeing this single bar's lighting performance, and B) there's a lot of discussion about the rated output for the lighting circuit and how running both lights can overload it, I'd rather just not risk it. Overall, a MUST for any P1/X1 in my opinion! ... show more

  • Cheap, Super Easy Install, and Lots of Light!
Great value. This light is a super upgrade. The stock light is pretty dim, but this thing is a game changer. It took about 5 minutes to install it and now I can see! Well worth the money. Use the QR code in the box to get detailed installation instructions from their website.

  • significant improvement in illumination, but installation is kind of a messy project
TLDR; installation is a pain, but it's worth it in the end. Annotated installation pictures are included in this review/how-to. I installed this on an X1E, which I believe has a different board than the X1C, but I'm not 100% sure about that. The installation instructions were terrible in general, but non-existent for the X1E model printer, so I had to figure it out myself. You need to remove the AMS, remove the top glass, and open the front door. Since you are working above the door, it's very difficult to see what you are doing. A headlamp helped. I finally figured out that the connector I needed to get to is under the gray ribbon cable. You have to unclip the ribbon cable to move it out of the way, same with the round black wire with the Ferrite bulge on it. You then have to remove the white glue with some tiny needle nose pliers from the 2-pin LED light connector (black and red wires) and then carefully remove the itty-bitty connector by pulling straight out using the pliers (carefully). You then plug in the new jumper wire (provided) to the old board connector, then connect the other end to the new, small "splitter board" (provided). I then stuck the new board just under the black Ferrite, sticking it to the flat ribbon cable against the wall using the double stick tape already on the bottom of the splitter board PCB. They claim the lightbar just sticks with the magnets, but the magnets are super lame. I don't trust them. think a light breeze would hold this thing better than the magnets. They also provide some 3M double stick tape squares, but those are also useless as they are too thin. There are two clips that protrude down from above the ledge on which you are supposed to mount this thing, so the light bar will NOT sit flush (at least on my machine) on the metal. That is why the provided tape doesn't work - it's too thin. I ended up using some thicker double-stick foam tape (3M VHB) I had around in order to provide enough space for the light bar to "fly" over the two clips and stick to the ledge. While you CAN plug the original (front) Bambu light into the splitter board, they recommend that you do NOT do that since the LED drive circuit will be overloaded. So the wire from the original LED was just tucked out of the way and abandoned. I'm not sure if the X1E has an extra LED light bar (it has 2), or if all the X1's are like this, but the original Bambu light on the left side is still there and still works. I didn't have to fiddle with any of it's wires at all. Anyway, after 30 minutes of muttering to myself, I finally got it all installed and back together. The light is SO much better than stock, so gritting your way through the installation is still worth it. ... show more

  • Works great
Bought 2 of these for my husband. He says they installed very fast and easy and works great for his Bambu Lab P1P and P1S 3D printers. Lights up the build area very well.
