I was able to drill into them in order to use screws but they can shatter a bit where the drill bit exits so just something to keep in mind. Using a finish nail gun works much better. Perfectly sturdy dowels. Easy to saw, sand, and use for any project you could think of. Stick them together with some wood glue and they even work as thicker blocks!

Pros: I'm using these for a mini greenhouse, so this exactly what I was looking for. I used toothpicks as tiny dowels to hold the frame together and the ends of the frame didn't split from pre-drilling. Cons: The dowels aren't warped, but a few aren't quite a half inch square.     • Good dowels for model making
The pine dowels were straight and mostly knot free. They were fairly accurate in terms of their stated dimensions. A couple of the dowels had rough edges due to the grain of the wood, but useable with a little sanding.

I like these square dowels, they worked perfectly for the corners of my craft project. Be careful, use gloves. I got a few teeny, teeny tiny splinters in my finger from these and all was doing was gluing. I only felt them when I brushed my fingers across my leggings.     • Most of the pieces are not ½ thick all the way across.
Different thicknesses and don’t seem like all the wood is the same type of wood. Splinters easily. I just wouldn’t buy from this place. Two middle fingers down.
