The synthetic suede fabric is breathable and easy to care for, simply brush off and wipe up with a damp cloth. The pad is filled with a high density foam padding. At the withers there is additional cushioning. The pad is contoured proving a superior fit. Highly recommend this pad. After shopping around for a few years (not joking), we were anxious to replace our old, worn bareback pad. I wasn't thrilled at the idea of paying $70+ for some padding with a strap, so we were waiting for a deal. We got lucky, I suppose, because it just so happened that the "child" navy/maroon pad Best Friend pad was $34.49 when we bought it, which is by far the cheapest I've seen for a bareback pad in years. That being said, the quality of this pad is definitely worth the regular higher price. The suede is soft with great grip for my kids, and under the pad is a nice sweat-wicking waffle neoprene. The cinch even isn't bad quality (I originally planned to swap it, but we are actually using it), and fit our pony perfectly. For size reference, we ordered "child" size. Our pony is 12hh and 720 pounds, and uses a 28" western cinch. I'd have to see what her English girth length is, but we have a child size saddle so it's longer than it would normally be. ... show more

I bought the horse/adult size and it fits my 13.2hh 760lb pony mare wonderfully. There’s plenty of room to adjust bigger or smaller so I think this would fit a wide variety of horses. I was worried the adult would be too big since my mare is a pony and I’m a small adult, but it fits her fine. This pad is super comfy to ride on and seems to be really good quality. I can’t attest to the durability since I just got it but I’m very happy with it. It’s beautiful, doesn’t slip, and is convenient to just throw on real quick. ... show more

Pretty color. Well made comfortable for horse and myself. This is my third purchase of this pad. Different colors and styles for my various horses. When I wear my full seat breeches and use this pad, I can ride as easily as with a saddle.

Perfect for grip, comfort, and added padding for your horse. These are durable and will last you for years. I have a horse who is very round around the barrel, and this pad doesn’t slip. Girth is very adjustable and should fit most breeds and body types. Made me a more confident bareback rider!

Nice quality bareback pad! Color is the same as advertised and looks great on my mare. Nice padding and "sticky" seat where I feel secure and no slipping. I like the girth it came with but the detachable option is nice to have too.

I really love the shape of these pads. I have used a lot of different bareback pads and this one is the best by far. It feels nice and secure when you ride with it. Thick(but not overly so like fleece), durable. Now the bad... Even with the non slip stuff it still slides back. I end up sitting a little farther up on the pad than I would like. It is not uncomfortable and the pad does not slide around or cause you to loose balance. I wish it had breast collar loops. It seems like once it gets back off the withers some it stays in that spot. ... show more

The price for this saddle pad made me hesitate in buying it, as we all know anything equine is expensive if it's a good quality. I took a leap of faith based on reviews and I am glad I did. This pad is an exception to the rule. It's an extremely high quality at what I consider an extremely low price. Fits any average horse perfectly. The material is great... my daughter never slides to one side or the other as she has done with previous bareback saddle pads. I can't attest to the ease of cleaning it yet as I've only had to simply wipe it off, but given the suede-like texture I think that will be a win, too. ... show more
