While taking these hats out of the packaging the vents on the side of the hats fell off. Now there are holes big enough for bees to get in and sting your face. It is also not denim as described, rather a cheap thin plastic foam with a polyester like lining, like something from a child’s Halloween costume. Don’t waist your time on this junk. ... show more

The "Lady" wants to get into bee keeping, so getting her the stuff. I have nothing to really compare to, but I tried it on and though the hat reminds me of WOODY in Toy Story, it fit fine and the netting and cinch strings seem to be well constructed. Same with the gloves, nothing heavy-duty, but adequate for getting started. The hive scrapers are very nice. As we got some of those in another kit already, I liked them so well I pinched them from the Lady for my woodworking ! lol. We are happy with the kit. ... show more

I would not have gotten the hat had I know it was polyester and not cotton or denim, it is relatively thin as well, I am not sure a bee could sting through it but a wasp might have enough heart to get the job done. I don’t believe the product is priced well due to the misleading fabric. I wouldn’t buy it again. But the net does it’s job effectively so not a total loss.
