We bought our mat separately but if you buy a mat either get the ABC letters to put under the mat or a foam mattress pad because the mat is not enough padding if you are on wood or tile. If your baby is like mine who likes to destroy everything I suggest a foam mattress under the padding because my baby likes to take it apart unless the abc mat will go under the entire play pen. It was a good price. I believe for our plastic one we paid 160$ but we paid under 70$ for this and it is perfect. I compared the two different play pens and as you can see this one fits everything and has much more space. It keeps all of his toys inside and he can’t climb out or try to as with our other one he was trying. For reference my baby is almost 3 foot tall and he’s 13 months and 25+ pounds. He loves it in there and can play however he wants. I don’t have to worry about him pushing the walls as he would with the 16 panel we had, this keeps him safe and keeps him from moving it as he cannot. Putting it together was really easy. Simply follow the instructions and if you don’t like reading there are picture but the instructions are only a sentence or two so really easy to understand. I am 5’5 1/2” and roughly 200 pounds and I fit perfectly in there it’s very comfortable you can even bring your own pillows and blankets for a nap. I didn’t experience any rips it’s great so far! The media could not be loaded. High points: -super easy to put together (think Lego or tinker toys) -great size. Not too big but big enough for a new crawler to have plenty of space to explore -needs padding.. especially if you have hardwood My baby is becoming more mobile by the minute so surrounding him with pillows on the couch while I clean isn’t an option anymore. I needed to find something that would work for the next several months as he begins crawling and standing. The sides are tall enough for him to hold on and look over- it even comes with little handles to help baby stand and the walls are made of strong, non-stretchy netting that can support baby as they work on balance. It also allows mommy and baby to keep an eye on each other ;) I didn’t want lots of bright / clashing baby furniture so I really like the neutral color (although I did order cream and received light grey) I bought two mats- one for the inside and one for underneath (it doesn’t come with one). The material of the bottom is a nylon-like and sweat inducing for my hot-natured baby and super thin. We have hardwood floors so the extra padding is necessary. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I absolutely love this play pen. I have had it for months now so I feel like I can tell if it’s good quality at this point. I like to show you guys that I’m actually living with and using these products daily. My daughter is now 15 months and has had this before she could even crawl. She is not gentle with this and it barely moves when she’s pulling on it. It keeps her safe, secure and out of everything. I’m able to clean and do the other tasks I need to get done as a working mom. My hours at home are limited due to work but the hours I do have are a lot more quality now. I’m not constantly after her telling her no all day. For reference, I am 5’ 2” and I can lay diagonally across the floor of the play pen without touching the corners. She has a ton of room. I wanted a big play pen because we share this home together. It’s important to me that she be able to move and play freely. When I’m not cleaning I push the playpen back and just leave it open. She crawls in and out as she pleases through the zipper opening. During the install the poles were a little hard to put together but I have weak hands. The reason they’re hard to put together is because it’s good, strong material. I don’t want a product designed to keep my baby safe to be easy to move and bend. Even with it being a little difficult for me I was still able to put it together 100% by myself. Please watch the video as it gives a ton more info.
