  • Was not a new unit
Upon opening the Ally I received, the box was not wrapped in plastic. The Asus sticked on the seam of the box came off way too easily. It was barely even on the box. There were hairs and dust under the plastic on the actually device. There were smudges on the buttons, dpad, shoulder buttons, and triggers. Upon booting up the device, it did not load into armory crate. After hours of troubleshooting, I had to end up doing a complete cloud restore to reset the device to factory settings. Upon first boot after I did that, armory crate worked. All of these things collectively leads me to believe that the unit I received was not brand new. I've yet to be able to test the unit, but hopefully the seller can give me an explanation. ... show more

  • Powerful with some drawbacks
Product Name: ASUS ROG Ally Price: $700 Pros: • Powerful performance • 1080p touchscreen display with 120Hz refresh rate • Portable and lightweight • Comfortable controls • Runs Windows 11 • Supports external GPUs Cons: • Short battery life (3-4 hours) • Software can be buggy • Expensive Overall: The ASUS ROG Ally is a good handheld gaming PC. It is powerful, portable, and has a great display. However, the battery life and software could be improved. If you are looking for a powerful and portable gaming PC, the ASUS ROG Ally is a good option. However, if you are looking for a long-lasting gaming PC with a bug-free software, you may want to consider other options. User Reviews: • "I love the performance of the Ally. • Perfect for me
Cannot ask for a better handheld Windows PC and Gaming device. This ultra powerful device replaced my Xbox series S + SFF PC + Old MacBook Pro at the same time while being much smaller and lighter and with a touch screen and adequate cooling and support. It's perfect for me and I love that it exists, and I hope they continue to support it and iterate on it! ... show more

  • So far so good, but just a few small problems.
Been messing around with it for about a day now, and been impressed so far, performs well for something so small, and the screen is bright and looks nice, however, I have a few problems with this particular listing. First off, allegedly, this may be marked up significantly from its MSRP. Some reviewers have mentioned that it should be around $700, not $900 like it is here, and $200 is quite a markup. Additionally, the cable included in the box was not the US one. You can get a replacement for under $10, but it would be nice to not have to, especially with the markup. The only complaint I have with the device itself is the lack of any USB ports, which the comparable Steam Deck has. I just wish I could hook up a USB keyboard and mouse to make some things a bit easier to navigate. ... show more
