  • Awesome System
This machine is a great arcade system. The unit incorporates Bluetooth technology to allow for competition with other owners around the country and contains some of the earlier arcade games. The quality of the buttons and action of the controls is brisk. Screen colors and vibrancy are excellent as are the lighted displays. Screen size could be better, but it isn’t bad. The height of the machine places the view screen a bit low for taller players. I am 6’3”, and therefore get my best viewing angle while sitting instead of standing, which isn’t exactly a deal breaker, but something to be aware of. There are actually 14 actual arcade games included, as well as several Atari Home system games. Centipede, Crystal Castles, Gravitar, Liberator, Major Havoc, Space Duel, Akka Arthur, Millipede, Asteroids, Asteroids Deluxe, Missile Command, Lunar Lander, Super Breakout and Tempest, are the basic games from “back in the day”. Each one of these games plays fairly true to the original arcade versions, making this system a great value. Millipede was so intense that it had me laughing out loud at the sheer joy of playing, as well as laughing at my own slow reaction time. The system also has 50 games from the old Atari System, including “Adventure” one of the first hit video games created and Yar’s Revenge, which is probably the best playing game by today’s standards. This is only the first game purchased for my new recreation room, but I will definitely be going back to this same company in the future. The quality is impressive. As for ease of building the unit? Hmm, well I did it myself with a Phillips head screwdriver. And I am definitely not very handy. Yes, the directions could be better, and there are a couple of steps where two people would be ideal, but the quality of unit components make assembly fairly easy. All in all, this is an awesome system! ... show more

  • Well built, good choice of games.
I have two of these 1up cabinets. They are both well built and have a decent choice of games and don't take up the refrigerator size space you need for a full size cabinet. I wasn't too sure about the Atari 50th anniversary theme but the cabinet look really nice. The only compliant I have about this particular cabinet is that none of the games have any attract sounds. My Galaga cabinet does and it adds a bit of authenticity to my home arcade area to hear it beeping away in the corner. I bought these as much for decor and ambiance as to play so the attract sounds are a nice authentic feature. I plan to get a cocktail table version too but I'll definitely be checking if it has attract sounds before I do. Other that that the screens are nice, the controls feel authentic and the cabinets give the speakers a nice full sound. And the lighted controls and marquee and the cabinet graphic will add a nice authentic feel to any home arcade. ... show more

  • Awesome mini-arcade
Bought two of these Arcade 1up units in the past month. Really diggin' them so far. The kits are ~65lbs. flat-packed and easy to put together. Following the instructions and taking your time you can assemble everything at a comfortable pace and all you need is a phillips screwdriver. If you do not have alot of available floor space for an upright arcade these are a good choice because they are approx. 2/3 the size of a full upright cabinet. Basically they are a cabaret-size arcade. Those were available in the 1970s as an option and very uncommon/collectible today. The Atari 50th Anniversary Deluxe includes all of my favorite classic arcades plus a decent collection of Atari 2600 cartridge games which is a solid bonus. I appreciate the layout of the controls it was well thought out and not a frankenpanel. Looks great, and the backlit arcade buttons including the correct volcano start buttons is a nice touch. The only downside for me is I have to play them sitting on a bar stool since I'm 6'3. But that's OK minor issue as far as I am concerned. ... show more

  • Much better then I thought it would be
Much sturdier than I thought it would be, not crappy particle board. It's an easy build but takes awhile. Setup was simple and everything worked. I'll be buying dragons lair next.

  • The ultimate Atari 50 anniversary item.
I've been collecting the Atari 50th anniversary items that have been hitting the market a full year late. Late or not, this this is the ultimate Atari 50th anniversary item. Great selection of Atari games and the build quality is very nice. Controllers are spot on and work very well with the game collection. Highly recommend this for the serious Atari collector. ... show more

  • Nice machine but took about 3 hours to put together
I mainly bought this for centipede and Millipede and Tempest as it has a roller ball and games on consoles do not have roller balls. They work pretty well the screen isn’t that big at 17 inch and it’s a little small so you might need to use a stool or use two or 3 inchespedestal to make it taller. Centipede and Millipede worked just as good as the arcade did with a smaller screen all in all for 499 you get yourself a great arcade game bringing back memories of your childhood. The instructions were very well laid out with pictures pedestal to make it taller.
