I separated them to ensure they weren't interfering with each other. They get bright sunlight all day long - but only one works. Well that was what I thought. They quickly sent me a replacement, and when I took the "broken one" down, I realized someone had pushed the button and turned it off. They have 4 different modes. We put these up as a quick fix to eliminate the old style halogens that we have. Our halogens are a pain in the (you know) to change bulbs. When both halogens burned their bulbs we got these until we find some newer LED's that match the rest of our outdoor lights. They do work, but only cast light out for about 20 feet. Motion isn't as far as expected, about a quarter of your driveway with length of 2 cars. Low setting or on all night is too dim as it will forever be use with motion sensor for brighter lighting.

I did not realize that these lights are only for motion detection purposes. There is no way to keep the lights on so do not have the capacity to act as lighting.
