  • Good value for the money.
Color: 70400
After playing my daughter and I were playing with this telescope we ended up liking it more and more. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful with questions that I had. Start off with the larger lens first and then work your way down to the smaller lens for stronger magnification. I must say that the phone holder to us was pretty useless because once you lock onto your target even with the phone the weight of the phone brings the telescope down or moves it off a little bit to where you are off Target. That is the only thing that I do not like about the telescope. For viewing and teaching your children about the solar system and planets this is useful. I can say that the Moon looks really good in it but I would recommend using the moon filter. I'm working on a adjustable rod that holds supports the weight of the phone with adjustment so once you find your target with the phone clip you are able to zoom in even more on the phone and take pictures. I was able to see the rings of Saturn and Jupiter and all of its moons successfully with this telescope. I mean for the price you can't beat it but make sure that you are unsteady ground. I had a problem using it on the grass it got wobbly pretty quick. ... show more

  • Great for the price, but a few key pieces feel flimsy
Color: 70400
I got this for my son to use, and I guess for myself too, as I never had one as a kid! I was surprised that I could get a decent telescope for this price, but I did find a few pieces to be flimsy, maybe the parts where the lenses connect to each other. The attachment for the phone is especially bad, to the point of being basically unusable. I wasn't sure how that was going to work, and if I had known, I probably would not have worried about a phone attachment, and maybe would have just gotten a better one separately. With something that needs to be precise like a telescope, you don't want parts that are going to fall apart under their own weight. I ended up holding the phone up to the eyepiece manually in the end and just taking a bunch of shots until I got a few that were pretty clear. The other part that was hart to work with was the tripod. The tripod itself was fine I guess, but if you are going to put a very sensitive device on top of a long skinny tripod, it's going to be shaking around with every little breeze, and just a tiny movement will make you lose your subject. I am planning to try using it closer to the ground next time, maybe in warmer weather where you can lie on the ground to look into it. Hopefully that will make it more stable. ... show more

  • Visibility poor
Visibility is poor. I get that it’s a $50 telescope, but you should be able to see clearer in my opinion.

  • Great buy for kids/beginners. Awesome seller!
Color: 70X300
I had no previous experience with a telescope so I knew nothing at all about setting one up. However the spotting scope is adjustable so I started by getting a street lamp in view and then adjusting until the telescope matched. Then I received an email from the seller explaining a few things (unsolicited assistance and much appreciated) and boom! I was able to look at objects in the night sky and easily identify if they were celestial bodies or hovering aircraft, look at the moon, my son and I are now going for planets as they align with our global position. The included tripod wasn’t my favorite but I already owned a nice tripod and was able to convert it for use with the telescope. Neat for beginners and at this price point you cannot complain at all. ... show more

  • PARTS DO NOT FIT!
Color: 70400
I ordered my daughter a telescope for her birthday because she really wanted one and she was so excited about it! When the telescope finally arrived my husband & my son were putting it together and one of the main parts did NOT fit! I contacted the seller and sent them the pictures showing them that the part did not fit and they said they would send a new part. We waited over a week for the new part to get here from their warehouse in China and guess what?! It was the SAME exact part that we already had that did NOT fit the telescope! At this point I asked the seller for a full refund so that I can just go somewhere else & purchase my daughter a new telescope. She’s upset and she’s out birthday money that she spent for this new telescope. I do appreciate the Seller responding to my messages quickly and trying to fix the problem but I’m upset that even after sending pictures and explaining to them, they still sent the wrong part. This has been just too much of a hassle for something that I’ve already paid for. ... show more

  • Easy to assemble and good for both children AND adults.
Color: 70400
Can't thank you enough! We've bought telescopes for a similar price point that just didn't work out. We decided (with very short notice) to head to the Adirondacks to see if we could catch a glimpse of the Perseids meteor shower. The telescope arrived working 24 hours and was easy to assemble and decently sturdy. Easy to use, with an adjustable height tripod was an added bonus. With the telescope we had a blast and were able to have our three boys fall in love with the stars. ... show more

  • It has it's uses.
Not bad as a training aid but pretty much worthless any kind of star gazing.
