  • Great price/quality
Size: 32" Curved QHD Style: 165Hz
Great monitor with a couple easy tweaks to settings. Runs Xbox series s games that allow it at 120hz, you may or may not care for this as the quality of image to me is good but not as sharp as the upscaling a tv provides, and being closer to the screen the smoke and mirrors effect of consoles does not apply to image quality. For pc games and video it is spectacular, not as bright as some monitors I have used, but very good depth to images which I prefer. Easy setup and software you can download to tweak settings from desktop as well. Beware the hdr setting will disable the ability to choose different gaming modes, took me a couple of minutes to make that connection. Image looks better in gaming mode with gamma and color adjustment to me for games than hdr for the most part to me. ... show more

  • Best monitor I have ever used
Size: 27" Mini-LED QHD Style: 180Hz
Image: Ignored that it looks washed out, I wasn't directly on it, I have HDR on, and it's bright in my room. I promise you it looks so much better and the picture doesn't do it justice. I have seen quite a few monitors in my time, from really crappy old school monitors in the late 90's, to very large Samsung 4K monsters of today. This AOC monitor is beyond impressive for the cost. I use it as my primary monitor as I simply do not see the point of 4K for gaming even though I have the hardware for it (7900XTX for GPU). My eyes simply do not notice any real difference between 1440 and 4K while gaming. Movies, sure, but not gaming. I have had 0 issues with the monitor after months of use, no dead pixels (which can happen to any monitor of any brand), no lines or streaks, nothing. The Quantum Mini-LED technology is absolutely fantastic, and my games look incredible. Now, could you get better? Yes. Could you get better at even double the price? Debatable, and I'd say probably not. I waited to catch this monitor in stock and instantly bought it the moment it became available because of the great reviews I had heard from others. My only gripe is going from a curved back to a flat, is incredibly difficult to adjust to and enjoy. Over time it's become fine, but the moment I can get a curved that is supposed to be as good for near the same price, I will do so. Basically, if you're on the fence, you don't have a Mini LED monitor already, flat isn't a deal breaker for you, and you want an absolutely incredible 1440p monitor with fantastic HDR, a great refresh rate that's more than enough for gaming, and you want to do so for around $200 which is an absolute steal, then buy this bad boy ASAP. Recommended. ... show more

  • Great monitor regardless of price, $300 is VALUE
Size: 27" Mini-LED QHD Style: 180Hz
I have the 27" Mini-LED QHD @ 180Hz Model. Been using this monitor for seven months. Crisp, vibrant colors, latency is minimal. Gaming, digital art, videos, movies, all fantastic. Youtube channel "Monitors Unboxed" has a video detailing the technical specs if that's your thing. Mini-LED hype is real. This thing compares favorably with $800 monitors. 2560x1440 resolution is ideal for 27" screen. Complaints: 1) The menu firmware and menu buttons are pretty horrendous. Thankfully you rarely need to touch them, but tinkering with settings is a pain. 2) The monitor stand is... fine. Prongs are long, takes up a lot of desk space. Good enough construction. Just buy a nice monitor arm to mount it on, the incredible value for this monitor will let you fit in other misc products in your budget. (I wouldn't want AOC to make the included monitor stand better at the cost of price, I think it's fine as-is and the customer should buy an external arm if they need it) 9.9/10, great value for a great monitor. ... show more

  • HDR goes brrrr
Size: 27" Mini-LED QHD Style: 180Hz
Monitor looks great for HDR gaming, it gets bright, and it looks fun. Maybe not accurate, but accurate enough for me as a casual media consumer and gamer. 4k is significantly better than 1440p, while in my opinion 1440p is not miles better than 1080p on a 24in monitor. But it is a slight improvement with far detail in games you can't supersample(DLDSR, DSR, AMD Super Resolution, Internal Resolution sliders) to 4k. The refresh rate of 180 is stable on my unit and with strong pixel response settings gives me good motion clarity. Latency on this screen has tested above average in many conditions and in my personal experience it feels snappy and responsive. The VRR implementation does not detract from any of the monitors features and works perfectly with any setting you use, except of course at low refresh rates higher pixel response times leads to ghosting but that is common with VA panels. As a VA panel contrast is much better than another mini-led IPS with 3x the dimming zones. I think it looks better than even an 1100 dimming zone IPS for contrast and perception of black levels. But since it is a mini led with only 330 dimming zones in some circumstance it is impossible to not see the dimming zones activating and deactivating, a problem that is less noticeable the more dimming zones your monitor has. In gaming its not distracting but on general desktop use you might notice it. For general desktop work use disabling local dimming is preferable, like typing up a paper ect ect. This monitor allows you to disable it even in HDR, which is nice if you keep your windows desktop locked to HDR mode. This monitor would be better if it was glossy, or even semi-glossy. VA panels are very good at contrast, and the matte AG coating doesn't let it shine the way it should. It does look very good, even with the AG coating, it could just be better. I personally keep windows in HDR mode, but swap between a few settings depending on time of day. First thing you're going to want to do is use the windows HDR calibration tool to generate an ICC profile, I suggest you do /not/ touch the saturation slider. After this profile is set you're going to want to find the SRGB ---> gamma2.2 project since most SDR content is gamma2.2. Any other thoughts on that are advanced and if you know you know. 30 Windows Content Brightness + 200nit/2.2 lut 80 Windows Content brightness + 400nit/2.2 lut 100 Windows Content Brightness + 480nit/2.2 lut The 200 nit config generally provides me with the best results at night for SDR content, and overall for any time of day the best results for auto-hdr content. True HDR content ignores windows content brightness but not the lut file. Personally, I miss 4k of the IPS I ruined, but despite having the same HDR1000 spec, and the IPS having more dimming zones, I am enjoying the quality of this monitor more. Its also easier to run games that don't have DLSS or a good implementation of DLSS. TLDR: This is a fantastic FALD HDR1000 gaming monitor. You can do little wrong, especially given its priced this competitively. ... show more
