The media could not be loaded. [UPDATE] I changed my rating from 1 star to 5 because I received a message from Amolen this morning apologizing and offering a refund! Wow, the seller offering me a refund for an obvious shipping issue. Really outstanding customer service. I'll be ordering another roll. Thank you, Amolen. I was really dissapointed this morning. I like Amolen filament. This is the fifth roll I've purchased. The other three Amolen glow in the dark colors that I ordered at the same time (blue, red, yellow) all print just fine, but they arrived separately the day before this roll. I just opened this (a week past the close of the return window, of course) and as I was putting it on my printer I noticed the spool was warped and the filament had a discoloration. I suspect it got really warm on that side. Everything looked fine when it was inside the package. I never open a roll of filament until I'm ready to use it, but now I think I'll be opening, inspecting, than repackaging in my own bags the day I get them. ... show more

  • What a GLOW!
Color: Glow-blue
Before we get started let's just get my setup out of the way so you know where I'm coming from. Ender 3 (not pro) SKR Mini E3 v1.2 Flexible Magnetic Build Plate (Creality Official) BMG Clone Extruder Cura Slicer with CHEP 4.7.X(Good) 0.2mm Profile. Alright so let's get into the meat of this review. When it comes to my printer I always wanted to try glow in the dark filament but was always worried that it wouldn't look good. Plain and simple, I'm glad I was wrong. Main thing to say is the glow works MUCH better when exposed to sunlight. I think it's the UV rays that is causing it to soak up so much energy so one day I want to try this with a black light. Temperature: I couldn't find a "best" temperature for it, everything from 180-210 or so seemed to look great which is a good thing. Means you don't have to worry about things looking weird and don't really just have to look for anything when it comes to the temperature. Just set it to 200c for the nozzle and 60c for the bed and you're good to go. Color: If you think you're getting a blue filament that glows blue don't. It's white under normal light but you get it in the dark and it glows a mighty blue. Just look at the pictures I posted. There are no filters. Just left them out in the sun for a few minutes, took them in a completely dark room, and took a picture. I really didn't expect the glow to be so bright honestly. It was a very pleasant surprise. I need to find some outdoor applications to use this in so that dusk looks even cooler outside my house. The white itself looks good and is even a little transparent. It could make a good surprise if you were to give a gift to someone who likes blue and they think you gave them a white item only for it to glow blue in the future. Adhesion: I'm starting to think the cheap filament I had before was what was causing them not to adhere to my bed but the 3 most recent filament's I have gotten have stuck well, though it may also be the new springs I got too. Layers stuck well to each other as well as to the bed. No layer shifting from anything and it didn't pop off mid print to ruin everything. No complaints when it comes to this category. Packaging: Came in a normal box with the flip open tab for easy storage as well as a sealed metallic zipper bag. Filled it with air and gave it a press to see if any air was leaking out and it wasn't so I went ahead and placed a few extra desiccant packs in there because I want to make sure this filament stays good till I use it all. I like the spindle itself. I don't know if AMOLEN's other filament's come on clear spindles as well or if this is it because the filament is a little translucent. Overall: I have 0 complaints and just can't stop raving about this. I'm hoping one day they have a glow in the dark purple and once they do I'm buying immediately. Next I hope I can get my hands on the shiny glow green (looks like it has chunks of EXTRA glowy pieces in it) and the color change ones one day. Cheers! ... show more

  • Use a UV flashlight to charge it up
Color: Glow-orange
It printed without any hassle on some random basic settings that didn’t have crazy fast travel speeds. You’re definitely gonna want to charge it up with some UV led and then it pops like crazy. I can imagine if you used it for parts that would transition between black light rooms and dark rooms frequently that would be ideal, like sights on a nerf gun or something. Printed on bambu a1 mini default nozzle etc. ... show more

  • Very pretty but adhesion issues
Color: Glow-green
This prints very well once it gets going, but the first couple layers have issues sticking to my bed. I fixed it using a glue stick. The glow is fantastic, especially under UV light!

  • Prints well, good glow.
Color: Glow-rainbow 10m
Prints smoothly, great consistency, good color and brightness. I've included a picture but I found it insanely hard to get a good image. In order to "charge" this filament so that it glows it has to be exposed to UV light. Most LED lights are intentionally engineered to emit a specific spectrum of light. Since our eyes can't see UV light generally LED lights don't emit much, if any, UV. Consequently your average home light won't charge this filament very well (or any glow in the dark material). For best results you'll want to "charge" the filament under direct sunshine, a UV lamp, incandescent bulb, or even a good old fashioned fire (safety permitting). Also note that glow in the dark materials are abrasive. Printing a lot of glow in the dark filament will widen your nozzle over time. ... show more

  • Not Worth the Trouble- Faint Glow and Constant Jams
Color: Glow-white
I had high hopes for this glow-in-the-dark filament, but it ended up being a major disappointment. The filament is advertised as having a bright, long-lasting glow, but in reality, it barely glows at all. After charging it under direct UV light for hours, the glow was faint and faded quickly, making it useless for the project I was working on. In addition to the lackluster glow, the filament had serious printing issues. It constantly tangled on the spool, causing multiple print failures. I used this filament with my Bambu Labs A1 and tried various settings, including different temperatures and speeds, but nothing seemed to improve the print quality or the glow. I've worked with other specialty filaments before, but this one was by far the most frustrating. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this filament to anyone looking for reliable glow-in-the-dark effects. The hassle and poor performance just aren't worth it. ... show more
