This is my new favorite filament. The glow is somewhat weak, which might be because I printed with less material, but it looks good enough in the light to more than make up for that. No issues with adhesion or breaking, supports came off nicely. I have used the other Amolen glow filaments and this has a much better texture in my opinion. I recommend using a more organic infill pattern rather than the geometric ones as this material is translucent. I've got about 20 rolls of Amolen filament and genuinely like most of them and would buy more of them even after this experience. I bought this because I love glow filament in general and am a huge fan of anything that glows in the dark. The images shown on Amazon made the Starry Sky glowing filament look amazing and different from all of my other glowing filament because of how it lights up in speckles when it glows. However... I'm not sure if I got a dud roll or if the way this filament is supposed to glow is just a lie. I printed 2 things with this stuff to ensure I had a shape that had the best chance to glow. I charged them up a LOT (including with direct sunlight) and then went to a room with no windows to check them out in almost absolute darkness. Just nothing at all. I used a high power LED flashlight for an extended period of time and managed to get a small spot to have a few dim speckles but nothing even close to the pictures on Amazon. The printing quality was fine, the color and shininess of the filament when printed were also fine. I'm just very disappointed by the total lack of nifty glowy bits. ... show more

I very much wanted this PLA to work like a dream. Instead it has been a nightmare. I have not printed much, because, for the first time in my entire printing experience, I get near constant clogs. I clean the print head, run this filament, clog, swap to another filament, no clog, swap back to this filament, more clogs. I am also disappointed in the glow in the dark aspect of this filament. In the couple prints I have managed to make it through without a clog, there is no noticeable glow in the dark element. I love glow in the dark and was super excited to have a blackish filament that had the glow element. But to no avail. Sigh, I guess that is all. This is now my garbage/test filament, or maybe I will try it in my 3d print pen (the one I have never clogs, because the bore is enormous). I doubt I would ever buy this again. I cannot say I would recommend it to anyone EDIT: I find it interesting that the color I bought is no longer sold. Also, I bought it 5 months before the date of this review. EDIT 2: 9/30/2022 Started Using this filament again, for test prints and some throwaway items. It has been working ok. The glow aspect is visible now, but only after all day in the sun, and only where there is absolutely no other light. ... show more

Useless unless you're looking for a grey. The "glow" or "sparkle" requires very bright UV light to activate, and once it's in the dark the effect lasts mere seconds. Completely useless for what is advertised. Update: Customer service reached out and offered a full refund. +1 star for good customer service. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Loved the the print quality! Almost perfect except the glow doesn’t last long with a black light! But when it glows it’s beautiful. Definitely fun and I’d buy it again just wish the glow would last longer

I've been printing with Amolen since I started 3D printing. Its one of my favorite brands. Dark Starr Night just continues that love. I've used several brands of this kind of filament before and Amolen's has been the best. Better glow, better density, and less clogging. Outside some clogs which were more settings related over filament issues, every print has been perfect. Amolen is pricey but its worth the price for quality. ... show more

    • starry night filament looks horrible, can barley see it in a pitch black room and hard to print with
Looks horrible in the dark i can barley even see if in a pitch black room after charging it for hours with a florescent uv black light. And it isnt black at all its see thru grey. Also most my my prints failed (except for 2) about half way thru my item just pops off the build plate like 20 hours in the bottom looks like it starts to warp. Ive tried 60c, 65c, 70c, and 80c bed temps and none of thoese seemed to make any difference if anything i had the longest prints with 80c. And im always using a raft too but im going to change my raft settings after wasting half the roll and report back hopefully it sticks better. Just tested it with no bed heat on 2 prints and they seemed worse than with the bed heat🤦♂️ ill keep trying and report back with what works so yall dont have to waste $20 worth of this crap like me update- i found the best way to get it to stick is with glue (yes even if your bed is glass and perfectly clean you need it) and turn the bed heat off, i havent tired it with glue and a heated bed because im too scared lol hopefully the blue glow in the dark pla is brighter atleast. Never mind the no bed heat and glue trick doesnt work just failed another print 24+ hours in ... show more
