I have a CR-10s. I’m new to 3D printing, to get that part out of the way. Okay, so I bought this pack mostly to try out the wood and marble PLA. I’ve only used those at the time of this review. WOOD PLA: how fun! It’s definitely got a grainy texture, and I felt the lighter color helped the wood like appearance. For printing, I didn’t put down any adhesive. No glue, spray, tape, or anything. I washed the glass with dish soap and tried, while trying to avoid touching the glass. The PLA adhered to the glass no problem. The wood PLA is definitely stringy, so getting the temperate right was important. I found it had to be a lower setting than normal PLA. I printed this fallout coin a couple times to test out printing both flat and upright (with support). Okay, print settings: 0.4 nozzle at 195 degrees, Heat bed at 60 degrees, print speed 50 mm/s. Printed standard 0.2 quality. My retraction was 5/45 which I may adjust in the future as I did have a little bit of a blob on one of my other prints. MARBLE PLA: supposedly a friendly PLA for new people, but I had a lot of issues to start. Had to start projects several times, as they kept coming off the glass bed, and had a bit of leakage out of the extruder. I learned this PLA forced me to put something down on the glass, first, along with some new settings that were different from the wood PLA. I used the masking/contact tape that came with my printer. That was enough to keep the marble down! After I tried that, I ended up with successful prints for the six marble prints I did. Yes, it’s more cookies and cream versus natural marble but it’s understandable why PLA can’t mimic it. Settings: 0.4 nozzle at 200 degrees, Heat bed at 60 degrees, print speed 40 mm/s. Printed standard 0.2 quality. My retraction was 6/50. Overall, I’d recommend this PLA set! The quality is great. I’ll be trying the other two PLAs in due time ... show more

Great value for the price. Am new to 3d printing and with all the options out there I decided to try this for my first set. As to learning more ans more about 3d printing I have had to adjust the Temps on my printer. But have made some amazing items with these. The colors are beautiful. Living in arizona where I do ee don't have much humidity so don't have to worry like others would over moisture. Will buy again ... show more

Filament printed w/o extrusion, adhesion, or spooling issues. This is the bamboo filament out of the (4) pack. It seems a little pricing for only 800g package, but looks good.

The media could not be loaded. So I have heard amazing things about amolen filament and how cool the triple color silks are. I was so excited to get this package. I opened it to find that the volume versus the value wasn't what I wanted. I really was expecting that for the price that the size of the rolls would be a bit bigger. But being a specialty filament, I can understand that the amount you get is going to be less than what you would get versus a solid color like black. Regardless I was also disappointed to find that the roll was not neatly wound, I have concerns that the roll will tangle during use. So far it hasn't. But putting the roll on my standard holder on my creality k1 max the roll moved all over the place and the filament was jumping off the roll and wrapping around the holder on the machine. A quick hair clip to the end of the holder to make the space smaller so it didn't have so much room to move around seems to have fixed that problem. So I'm excited and I love the tri color filament but I would have liked to see better volume for the money. ... show more

Being somewhat new to 3D printing (2 months) I read the reviews on this filament and all the clogging issues and possible fixes, but I still wanted to try it because it looks great. Alas .. I have the same woes with it as many others have with clogging and failed prints. I first put it in my dryer and got the humidity down below 10% .. loaded it up (the cherry wood) and tried my first print, a small cross pendant and that worked great. After that I tried a longer print (about 7 hours) for a small animal bust figurine, and the printer head clogged 1/2 through. I cleaned the tip, turned up my nozzle and bed temp a little and the print almost completed this time before clogging. After the third attempt failed again (adjusting my temps lower this time). I think I am going to put this away for a while and move on to other project until I have more time to fiddle around with the different printer settings. This is definitely NOT a beginner filament. And so far, it is the only one that has given me much trouble at all. (all my earlier issues were user error while I was learning my printer). The second thing to note, the sample pack contains very small spools which have been hard to mount easily on my filament spool holder on my printer (they like to wobble around without figuring out a way to stabilize them). I will just stick to 1K spools from now on. I rated this a 3 star because it has been a pain to get to work, but I have hope to figure it out. This is my 4th time buying Amolen. Their glow in the dark regular is awesome. Glows and prints perfectly. I did not like the sparkle glow. The color change is amazing. I love it. You get 4 small spools that equal 1 regular, still worth it to me. My only minor complaint is that 3 of 4 turn white, which is OK , especially just for printing little things for friends,but it would be cool to see some other mixes. Would Def. Buy again. ... show more
