Fantastic door knobs - look amazing and easy to install. I bought a set of this Amazon Basic straight lever privacy door knob and loved it. I went to order more, but they were backordered. So I made the mistake of buying a similar knob from Kwikset. Terrible! The Kwikset knobs were shorter and not as elegant looking, and they were horrible to install. I have installed dozens of door knobs over the years, at various houses I've lived in. The straight lever knobs from Kwikset were the worst I've seen. I returned them and waited for Amazon to be back in stock, and am thrilled with the results. The apartment is updated and looks refreshed. The knobs were easy to install, even when one of the doors didn't have a latch plate I was able to work around it. Very happy with my purchase, quality, color and sturdiness, nice brown color not bronzy, they look modern n pretty, got 7, 6 pack + 1 pack, replaced all 7 door knobs in my house that were over 20 years old, reasonably priced, well worth it, no scratches, none damaged or broken, highly recommend !!

The hardware is a nice economical door handle. Material is an average light weight but somewhat sturdy and easy to install with options for what the project requires. The only thing I found that could be improved on is the screws that hold the unit in place. The screws are of the cheaper end and when you go to really bear down, it wants to strip the head. Left me feeling as though I don't have a real secure mounting. Also, I ordered the privacy handles. Nice but the locking unit feels cheap. Overall however, for the price and end result I feel the value is there. ... show more

I was more than pleasantly surprised by the quality and ease of installation with these knobs! If you pay attention to how your old one comes off you don’t even need the directions (I wouldn’t recommend the directions anyways because they are more geared for a new installation than a change out). It literally took me about 5-10 minutes to take my old one off and install the new one. It worked perfectly! Ordered one to test it out and was so happy with it I just purchased enough for the rest of the house! Highly recommend! ... show more

Check your items upon arrival! Our door installer kept getting pushed back, and I did not open all boxes of handles right away. Even though the scanning sticker on the box said Matte Black like I ordered, the handles inside the box were incorrect; two were silver and one was oil-rubbed bronze. It is too late to exchange at this point. Handle itself is good. Does scratch easily in the black. Opens nicely with a quarter or with the end of an electrical prong (I have kids... I know all the tricks!). ... show more

After installing the handle sticks and stays askew when opening. It doesn't effect the function, but you need to move the handle back to the horizontal position or it stays cock-eyed. I noticed the spring break in it was a bit off, tried to adjust it....but that didn't change the problem. I'll keep it, it was only seventeen dollar so it's not a huge deal....but if you're wanting a sturdy handle, I'd go for a Schlagle or other name brand. ... show more

Very disappointed.... te door lever set arrived with out a key for the outside door lever. The key slot was there but no keys were included. Rather misleading to describe it as a lockable door lever and display the lever with the key slot! Otherwise everything was solid and the instructions were well written. Shame about not having a key - makes it quite useless for a cupboard which we wanted to lock! Item returned. ... show more
