  • Way cool tablet especially with bluetooth keyboard accessory
I bought this to replace my aging iPad that I couldn't upgrade anymore. I have tired of the overpriced Apple products and restrictive media policies with them so I opted to try a another kindle Fire. I've owned many kindles from the first paperwhite up to my kindle Fire 7 inch a few years ago. I wanted a larger screen and also the ability to use it like a laptop so the detachable bluetooth keyboard caught my eye. What a charm using the pair together and the price was great. I'm definitely a reader, and use highlighting a lot in my Kindle books. My only improvement suggestion was to be able to sort my highlights by color. By the time I finish a book I have the most important concepts in red, lesser ones in blue and the more common explanation text in yellow. It would be nice to just sort and review all the red highlights. But I have NO complaints. I'm very happy I went with Kindle instead of another iPad. ... show more

  • Amazing tablet!
I love the amazon fire tablet so much that I ordered 3. I got a 10.1" and two 7" for my kids. These tablets never freeze. The battery life is decent.. depending on how much you use it. For the 10.1 inch, I ordered the Amazon Kid-Proof Case for Fire HD 10 tablet (Only compatible with 11th generation tablet, 2021 release) – Aquamarine. It fits perfectly! For both tablets, I decided to get a wall charger and it works beautifully.... USB Charger, Anker Elite Dual Port 24W Wall Charger, PowerPort 2 with PowerIQ and Foldable Plug, for iPhone 11/Xs/XS Max/XR/X/8/7/6/Plus, iPad Pro/Air 2/Mini 3/Mini 4, Samsung S4/S5, and More As you can see in the picture, I used a hook on the sensory board to attach the larger tablet. ... show more

  • Good Tablet
The battery life is nice, the speakers are some of the loudest and clearest I have heard on any tablet, making it great for movies and videos while traveling. The touch screen is responsive and the processor seems fast. One complaint is that the physical button layout seems odd. The volume buttons are near the bottom edge with the power button in the middle of the LH side. I keep hitting the volume button when I try and turn off the display. The screen also doesn't have as good of viewing angles as some other screens I have used. It isn't terrible, but it seems that more than a 15-20 degree angle makes the screen darker and harder to see. This is not much of an issue when using it as a reader for books or print media, but is more noticeable when watching video. Overall I would recommend it! ... show more

  • Replaced my Nook that ended up as roadkill.
I was using a Nook for quite a long time until it got totally flattened by a hit-and-run driver. Needing to replace it, I tried this and I can't believe what I've been missing. I use it mainly for reading books, but now I'm doing tons more with this tablet. It works perfectly, and it has made reading way better than before. If there's one thing I find a fault, it's is inability to play nicely with all my Apple based products, but that's just a minor complaint. ... show more

  • Time for an Upgrade
I took advantage of Prime Day deals to trade in my 7" Fire, bought 5 years ago, and upgrade to a 10" HD Fire Tablet. I paid extra for one with no advertising, and it was well worth it. I also bought a bluetooth keyboard w/case and a mini SD card for extra storage. Now I have a great little laptop for a fraction of the cost to replace my old one, and I don't have to deal with Windows freezing up all the time. This 10" Fire Tablet does everything I need it to do. Its light and compact to fit in my work bag. Its fast for internet browsing, and the home screen is not cluttered with apps I don't use. The screen is bigger for watching movies and reading Kindle books. Something I've been doing quite a bit this year. It came with Office. So I can write notes, recipes, and keep track of expenses. The only problem I've had with it was in the beginning setting up the wireless connection. I went through all the steps over and over with no luck. I called customer service. They sent out a replacement, same connectivity issue. So I called my internet provider, AT&T. They said it was a common problem with new electronics and were able to resolve the issue in seconds. Overall I am very happy with this tablet. ... show more

  • I enjoy reading books on Kindle.
I use this for reading books. I do not do email, I do not browse the net, I read books. I think this is my fourth or fifth Kindle. I dropped my last one and cracked the screen about two years ago and I kept on reading books until it just died on day and refused to turn on. I set up many of the other capabilities on that kindle. I could browse the net, but I never did. I could read email, but I never did. I took one picture with my old kindle, but the camera was so poor compared to my phone that I never took another. I did one thing that I think was well worth the $15 that it cost. I bought the kindle without the annoying ads that popped up every time I turned on the kindle. Now I just open the book I am reading without those annoying extra seconds. In fact, I am going to post this, go to bed and read for twenty minutes, close the cover on the kindle and sleep. ... show more

  • Nice and fast
Bought this new model of the HD 10 after my old one wasn't holding a battery charge for very long after many years of hard use. This one is much faster, and the touch screen seems more responsive. The 5G Wi-fi connection is also significantly faster than my previous unit. I should note that I don't use some of the tablet's features. I don't use Alexa, and I don't watch videos on it, although that could change if I finally start doing some travelling. For the most part, I use it for reading eBooks, and occasionally listening to audiobooks. So overall, very happy with the unit. This time I also paid for the 'no ads' option - well worth the added cost. ... show more
