We installed this heater for our pups last week. Install was easy and set up was pretty straightforward. Ours arrived without the install template, but we were able to work out where to drill the cord hole without it. We have 1/2 inch insulation board on all interior surfaces of the dog house, and a 'door' made of a clear bath mat cut into strips (the pups didn't like the door they couldn't see through, so this was a compromise). We had temps as low as 12 degrees for several days, and the heater has kept it a toasty 55- 57 degrees inside the dog house. We're super happy with the product! My only issue was that the Bluetooth only seems to work if I'm outside. I was hoping to be able to monitor/ adjust the temp from inside our house. I reached out to the manufacturer and they said that walls could cause an issue with the performance of the Bluetooth. ... show more

    • CAUTION. Not worth the money

The Bluetooth won’t connect 90%of the time and the heater will not stay on. It hasn’t worked since we installed it this month. We’ve set it on different temperatures and it won’t hold the temperature. Please don’t waste your money. I wished I had of believed the reviews.

Purchased , plugged in added app as I got the Bluetooth version. At first seemed great, settings changes were instant. Didn't blow a lot of air so wouldn't be a lot of wind on the pet is pretty warm to the touch but not harmful, it is a heater after all. Changed Temps to cycle it on amd off a few times and after cycling only a few times I noticed it was not moving air. I could feel radiant heat but no air. Inspected fan and saw the it would move 1/4 in. At a time randomly like it was trying to start . I imagine it is brushless and has been built with bushings amd not bearings so the life time or product is probably not what they say it is. I could blow on the fan to help it amd it would operate until next time and won't start. Heat still operated ..... so does that mean there is no safety limit temp sensor in heater element so it will shut off before it melts down and creates a fire. Have a replacement coming but still thinking I am not going to use this until I talk to the manufacturer and get more info..... got the new one. (Took a old one apart to inspect. ) It does have a high limit switch on the inside top cover I have been using it for a week or so and so far I am pleased with it. The thermostat placement is not going to give you what temp is actually is since heat from the housing is radiating to the stat but after watching it for a week amd seeing what the temp reads during the day and night you can kinda get a feel for it. I liked it when it worked. It stopped working yesterday morning and smelled like burnt plastic. It was mounted to the inside of a large dog kennel. It was never exposed to elements and was on a smart plug schedule. In total, it ran m-f for 5-6 hours for 4-5 months.

Heater works well and seems to be good quality. I wish the range of the Bluetooth was better, I have to be within a foot of the heater for it to work. Overall I am pleased with this heater.

Sadly, we ended up returning this due to several major flaws which left our pups cold - turning them from hellhounds into mere heckhounds. The thermostat seemed to be defective, claiming it was easily 20+ degrees Fahrenheit warmer than actual. The fan was incredibly weak, so our larger (12 square foot) dog house didn't get much more than the tiny amount of heat radiating from the coils. The in-app experience was awful and seemed like an afterthought. Pairing took several attempts after which it finally succeeded. Bluetooth range on the device was pretty abysmal, didn't expect a lot that we had to be within about 4 ft of the heater to connect. There's no manual controls without the app as well, so you're stuck using it -- if you can get the device paired. ... show more

My hound heater had a problem but had great communication with company Akomapet pets emails were quick and offered suggestions on how to rectify and very quickly offered to replace item. I love these kennel heaters and wouldn’t be without them Highly recommend
