This air purification device was purchased to provide assistance at a time when smoke from California forest fires was creating poor air quality for days, weeks and months at a time--but little did we realize just how effective this seemingly small device truly is. The difference this personal air purifier makes is dramatically noticeable, even when other air filters are in use, which I find astonishing and remarkable. The AirTamer literally knocks all particulates out of the air in the immediate area, leaving no chance of any germs, airborne allergens, or particle pollution getting through at all. The portability of the AirTamer makes it possible to take it everywhere we go. One AirTamer makes a huge difference for two people, if you happen to stick close together, so the air inside your car on long trips or when dining at a restaurant feels fresh and pristine. The remarkable thing to me on a very personal level is that after 40 years of struggling with seasonal allergies, not to mention the more recent addition of also struggling with breathing when tiny airborne particulates are floating around as well, one tiny device could so completely clear the air. I realize now that if my doctors had recommended this device to me when I was first diagnosed with allergies as a teenager in high school, I would have been able to breathe easily without ever having had to get allergy shots, take allergy prescription medication, or suffer through decades of allergy suffering. Of all the air filters and air purification systems I've ever seen, this is most dramatically the best one I've had personal experience with. The only slight downside is that when wearing this device, some people may be sensitive to feeling the tingly electric pulse through the cord or near the sparking area when it pulses regularly from time to time. If this is a problem, one can simply set the device nearby with cord stretched out behind. Because of the health benefits of such life-changing nature, I'd give this device ten stars if amazon allowed it; extremely highly recommended, especially for allergy sufferers or anyone wishing to keep air clear around them during 'flu season' or when surrounded by people who are sick. ... show more

I use this for the obvious reasons in terms of viruses that float around. I also use it to help a little bit with cleaning product odors or heavy pollen. I still have to play with it a little bit to get the adjustment just right on the various types of blouses I wear. I like that you can adjust the cord according to what you are wearing and whether you have it attached to any of the material of the clothing you wear so far so good. The batteries seem to be holding out well and I already picked up some extra batteries for the time that these need replacing. I find I must be attentive to people around me in the event that anyone is wearing a heart monitor. Although it draws a little attention to yourself, it’s a good idea to ask if you’re going into a room with a few people in it if anyone has it, a pacemaker or other electrical device that is sensitive to other electrical devices most people can see it on me and are wondering what it is anyway so they notice before I do—It’s a good thing to have. One caution is that if you wear any kind of metal jewelry, you have to be sure that there’s a little bit of distance between the cord of this device and your jewelry, so that they don’t touch you’ll know right away if that happens because you’ll get teeny electric shocks That’s easy to fix when you move your stuff around a little bit. I tend to wear medals, so I have to watch this a little bit more than probably most people. It is not been a huge issue. I would rather be protected from germs, then to worry about moving my jewelry into a different spot or hanging it differently. I actually like that it uses batteries because I have to remember to put devices on chargers. Since we have been having power outages around here lately, I don’t have to worry about when I can get it charged, or if it will be charged up enough when the power goes out; there’s no issue. ... show more

I have a temporary medical condition that makes me especially vulnerable to germs and viruses. Many warned me against flying in airplanes because of the poor air quality, so I purchased this because there is no way to fully avoid airborne viruses. I have to get in elevators. I need to shop. I have been in restaurants when people started coughing or sneezing. I can't stay at home. So, I wash my hands frequently, try not to touch my eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands and I wear this air purifier. When people start coughing, I look down at it and I am reassured by the little blinking blue light. I have not gotten sick since wearing it and I have been wearing it for a few months now. The rope it hangs by was sometimes irritating at first. It feels like wool. Also, for a short time, when I wore the clamp against my bare skin, I felt little pulsations which I did not feel comfortable about, so I turned the ionizer around so that the blue light was towards my skin. Actually, it seemed the flow of air from the product had a better chance of reaching my face when the clamp was turned away from my body. I do love this product. My husband has the newer, more expensive version with the charger and he loves that one. I'm tempted to buy it because it is rechargeable. Changing the batteries are as easy as 1-2-3 and they are inexpensive at Walmart and Amazon.com. Unless I accidentally leave my ionizer on when I am not using it, my batteries last for weeks. Of course, unlike my husband, I don't typically wear this thing unless I am going out to see the public. He leaves his on the nightstand throughout the night. I'm not as happy to do that with batteries that need replacing. So, I am torn between the two products. But, I'd certainly give this one an A+++ rating. ... show more
