  • Remote controlled chaos! Score!
This isn’t for a autel. But it may work better, it comes with a keyfob remote, click a button and it drops. But you must have line of sight. The regular autel drop has a light sensor that relies on the aux light. If you are going to be dropping schedule 1’s to your buddy in the pen from 5000ft, go with the real autel stuff. If you are just dropping fireworks off into the neighbors yard, this will be so much easier. Line of sight is a must with this one! ... show more

  • Watch out below.... Seriously, do not stand under the drone when dropping!
Works perfectly! I attached a heavy-duty iBolt to the electronic release using a zip tie, then tied the iBolt to my fishing line (heavy braid). Flew the drone up over a tall tree and dropped the bolt on the other side—worked great for getting my rope into hard-to-reach spots. Just a heads-up: don't stand under the drone during the drop. The image shown was generated by ChatGPT, but it gives you a clear idea of the setup. ... show more

  • Worked great for the egg drop competition
I needed something that would release a small load from about 50 feet away. This worked great for the STEM week egg drop project. It was easy to use and dropped like it was supposed to every time. I've taken the batteries out of it and stored it for next years event.

  • Beware of blocked sensors under your drone
The universal Velcro strap works well, and the device works well itself, but I didn’t consider the sensors under the drone. I tend to lose some functionality when using it.

  • Solidly mediocre, but gets the job done for occasional use
The media could not be loaded. At the time that I ordered this, it was the lowest priced unit in the category. And it is pretty basic. It’s a molded plastic body that attaches via a hook and loop strap, with a single metal pin that moves in and out via a button on the body and the remote control. My unit is quite finicky on the control and kind of takes a certain rhythm to get to operate correctly. But ultimately, once you get it closed in the first place, which my unit struggles with, it does indeed reliably release on command. I was able to use this to facilitate hauling Christmas lights up a tree with my DJI Mavic 3 Pro. The drone had an issue with the weight itself before the unit got to any difficulty with dropping; in other words, this unit will handle as much weight as a typical consumer drone can safely lift and then some. But it ain’t pretty or elegant. Buy this if you have a one off DIY project to use it for once or twice. If you are going to be doing serious or repetitive work, it would be worth the investment to spend a little more for a higher end product. One major advantage is that there is nothing specific to a particular drone for this, so you won’t need to replace it if you change drone models. That makes it a good “just in case” tool to keep in your drone toolkit. ... show more
