First, I was impressed with the appearance and ease of use of this unit. The owner's manual was of minimal usefullness and no cook book was provided. It did come with a bunch of accessories. So many that it was challenging to manage to extract them all from the inside of the unit. First attempt to use it was to do fries from a raw spud. Came out very dehydrated and chewy. Like the unit sucked the moisture right out of them. We gave another brand of hot air oven as a gift and it made fries quite well. Searching the internet provided the hint that spritzing with olive oil should provide better results. Did this and, while fries were better, still not up to expected crispy goodness. I have baked and reheated other items and found that preheating the oven first seemed to work better but no preheat function was provided so managed to find an acceptable manual setting to use through experimentation. It did make toast quite well which was nice as you can prebutter the bread before toasting. In the end, I grew weary with trying to find workarounds to get acceptable results and returned the unit. While the unit I originally orders as a gift was no longer available, I did find a very similar unit (using the same model number but from a different manufacturer), ordered it, and am very pleased so far with its performance. Not as many accessories but does do fries from scratch and so many other things. Even has a handy preheat function. • Basket rusts easily, esp. in dishwasher. • Food tends to stick to the wire racks. • Max. time is 90min which makes using it as a dehydrator rather inconvenient. • Steam does not escape easily so french fries come out sad and soggy. :'-( • Easy to use settings and delicious food, otherwise. • I love the freedom of having wire racks, basket, and rotisserie options. ... show more

i bought this air fryer for my mom.she use it to fry chicken wings and french fries. it taste just like it’s be fried in a fryer but without all the grease. she also use the air fryer to steam fish. yummy ! she is happy and enjoy
