Of all the pain relief creams I've used, the Activene gives me the deepest, coolest relief. Has a wonderful scent, is not oily, and spreads on very easily. I use it for achy shoulders and relief from a tight neck when I'm stressed. Give it a try...all you can lose is discomfort.

This stuff a couple of times a day and before bedtime plus 2 good knee braces are all that helped me walk again after 2 months of injury, out of this world pain, and a fear I'd never walk normal again. I'm keeping a jar always on hand and recommend it to anyone with joint pain. It's not a cure, nothing is. But it lessens the pain and allows time to heal without reaching for drugs and liquor, which we don't have in the house anyway. Always active in sports, trekking the world, climbing mountains, and for the past couple of years too active in home DIY/yard work, I tore the meniscus in each knee, one a week after the other. That was a personal best even for me. I've strained and sprained just about every part of my body since high school but always healed quickly from injuries and bounced back. Not this time. When both knees are trashed and you cannot even hobble, it's a wake up call. Not that orthopedic docs didn't warn me over the decades to slow down, that this day was unavoidably coming. Expensive and painful meniscus surgery is out of the question. Scraping of the cartilage generally has a poor prognosis, eventually leading to knee replacement. So, I've changed my ways. It's hard to sit and think of all the things I could or ought be doing in stead, but my knees thank me. This Activene stuff isn't a fix for serious injuries or a replacement for common sense and moderation. ;-) But it does lessen the pain. I apply it and then put on my knee braces, which serves to keep the knees warm and allow the cream to soak deeper into tissues over time. Rinse, repeat for the past 8 weeks. Pain is the body's message to stop, so some pain can tell the brain how to heal faster, what to do and not. This makes the process tolerable, esp. as we head into winter stiffness. ... show more

Has a medicinal smell. Fine for when you're home, but not for going out! Otherwise, all is good.
