    • Better than my previous Asus Chromebook
Though it looks exactly like my previous Asus Chromebook (model C101P) which reached its AUE, there's one major difference with this Acer model. And that's the battery's life which is pretty amazing. After being fully charged, this item keeps working for days which I consider a real plus. Other than that, I haven't encountered any problems with it yet. The touchscreen feature also works well. Highly recommended. UPDATE: I've had the Chromebook for almost three weeks now and today the screen suddenly froze leaving all keys and the pointer inoperable. Turning the power on and off had no effect. I'm sure others know the fix for this dilemma but I learned that simply pushing the ESC key (top row, fourth in from the left) and the power key simultaneously instantly solves the problem. Hopefully, it won't happen again but at least I know how to deal with it. ... show more

This chromebook is trash. The wifi connection is terrible. I can confirm that it's the chromebook itself because other wireless items in the same room have perfect connectivity. Most of the apps don't work or run, and half of the streaming I do has to be in the browser because the apps regularly crash even when they're the only thing running on the darn thing. Streaming is the only use for this hunk of junk now, I had to purchase a different tablet for my intended use of drawing with the touch screen. The bluetooth also doesn't work at all. My headphones work with my phone and other tablet fine but this chromebook won't connect with any of my bluetooth cabale headphones no matter the manufacturer. (Sony, Jlab, offbrand, airpods). I don't know if I just got a dud, but it was a total waste of money. ... show more

    • A good alternative to a laptop
ChromebookOS is not as elegant and versatile as Windows 10/11 and overall when I need to do serious work I still go back to Windows and Microsoft Office 365. I'm not a great fan of Google. GMAIL is messy and Google Drive is inferior to OneDrive and I don't like that Google made me have a Gmail account, etc. Until I learn more, I still prefer Microsoft OS and products. But I do like the Chromebook for it quick boot up, size etc. The ACER 311 with touch screen, etc is nice. The ability to fold it backwards into a tablet is a worthy feature although I don't use it that way often. But I don't like the fact that as a tablet it rests on the keyboard. The battery life is good - at least all day or more - and it recharges quickly. When I take it to work I have a power cable in my bag, but have never had to use it. I wish it had a second USB-A port and an SD card port, but I bought a multi-port expansion hub that, although a bit inconvenient, meets my needs. A good device for the price. I have two of them: one stays at home and the other one travels. One convenient feature of ChromebookOS is that when both are logged in to the same Google account, they both nearly replicate each other and "look" and function nearly the same. ... show more

    • Nice little Chrome laptop at a good price.
I like the smaller size, 11.6 as it's so easy to use anywhere and to take on trips. It is lightweight but sturdy. Resolution and sound are good. Large, textured keys are very nice. I like the Android OS, as you can download and run apps. Battery life is good. It's got everything you need from a laptop, is fast and at the lowest price. My last Chromebook lasted 5 years, and I used it every day, so I am happy to have found this one to replace it. ... show more

    • Not all they're cracked up to be!
It's difficult to get used to something that doesn't work like Windows, but in the case of the Chromebook, it's very frustrating. Nice looking and very lightweight, but I found it be be very slow in responding to touchscreen, either using finger, cursor, or stylus. Trying to close out a site by hitting the X frequently took numerous attempts, and it alternates between being overly sensitive to touch, or not responding at all. I'm not entirely sure why Chromebooks are even marketed as they are nowhere near as easy and efficient to use as any device that has windows. I returned the order for a refund, and will make it a point to never use a Chromebook again. ... show more

    • If all features work properly.
Unlike my previous Acer Chromebook, this one does not open up some of my important apps right away. When they do finally open, I get a message saying app is not responding, when it is clearly seen behind the notice. Also, I tried to connect my wireless earbuds, but kept getting a message that there is no available device when the device is practically sitting on the keyboard. So even though Bluetooth is turned on, it's not working. The one main feature that I like is its long battery life, and it doesn't take long to charge. ... show more
