  • Fantastic Electric Skateboard for Commuting
The media could not be loaded. I got this skateboard for me and my teen son to use, but as soon as we tried it out the first time, he took it to his room and I have barely seen it since. He loves it and uses it to get to practices at the high school nearby as well as other activities with friends. He's around 160 lbs and I'm about 270 (both tall too). I have not been on a skateboard in about 35 years and he's not been actively riding in about 4 years. Once he got the hang of riding it and using the controls (the video is his very first attempt at using it so he's going slower), he was able to ride it around the neighborhood and high school for a couple of hours. The max speed is listed at about 16 MPH but he was able to get it up to 18MPH on the mostly flat sidewalks nearby. The controls are easy to read with the LED readouts. The modes are easy to select. The board and controller sync'd up immediately upon unboxing the skateboard. The deck (surface) is grippy and helps you control the board as needed (and stay on). The wheels are really nice and roll over most bumps without noticing a bumpy ride. The trucks are positioned at the end so you cannot really pop up the ends of the board to go over a curb or larger bump, but not an issue for us since we have sidewalks with access ramps at each corner. The wheels appear to be replaceable or able to take on bigger diameter wheels later. Battery life seems to last pretty long as we've been able to ride it for long periods and for several miles around the neighborhood, high school and green space parks in our area. Charging seems to work well and my son just leans it up agains the wall as he charges it each day. Power wise only one wheel is powered so if it misses contact with the ground, it can be a problem, however we have not had that issue yet (not planning on using it on ice either when that weather hits). The board performs well for my son, power wise and battery life wise. When I ride it up an incline it does okay but I would not win any races or time trials against my son due to the weight differences and how it effects the power output to the wheel. This has been a great skateboard for my son. He uses it more often than his electric scooter now and between this and the scooter, he never uses his bike anymore -- could be bad if he wasn't getting enough exercise, but being one of his coaches, I make sure he gets enough exercise. The good thing is that he shows up on time to events/school/practices/etc more often now. Love the board. But since this one disappeared into his room, I might have to get a second one now. Highly recommend it! ... show more

  • Great beginner/junior commuting electric skate board, but under powered.
Style: A1 BLACK
The media could not be loaded. This is a pretty great little electric skate board for commuters or teens/kids. This is not a super powerful board and has its limitations. However if you are aware of those limitations in mind, you can have yourself a great little board for commuting or fun. This is a single motor electric board that sends power to the rear right wheel. Only one wheel on the entire board receives power so if it ever looses grip you get no power at all. Once a while you will likely experience this going over bumps or uneven terrain. More powerful boards have dual motors sending power to rear and front wheels. The board feels a bit underpowered - this can be limiting in not just top speed, power, and range, but also weight. The board says it has a top speed of approximately 15mph with 17 mile range or about 1 hour range. Personally I have not gone anywhere near 15mph - usually I am around 6-8mph even on "pro" speed. I think 15mph maybe achievable with ideal conditions. I think about 10mph is a realistic expectation. The low power also affects going up hills and gradients. As an adult 165lbs male, going up on even a minor gradient asphalt hill can be difficult even on the highest "pro" mode. Here, I think if they at least used both rear wheels to push power, it might help with hills. Hence you really need to manually push yourself up hills even at max power. Additionally if you are heavier or taller, this may affect the power output on hills as well. Ideally smaller and lighter teens would have less issues with this. The wheels themselves are pretty great. They are pretty soft and take small bumps well. Larger cracks or dents in the asphalt or sidewalk may be problematic. They are 3.25inch wheels which are large but not as large as others. Thankfully it looks like you can always upgrade them easily if you wish. The agility is also pretty great, the board leans very easily and it feels limber and easy when making turns. The deck is very grippy and should keep you plated well. It has a long board design but the board itself is not what you would expect for a longboard length. It's primarily built for cruising but taller people may feel cramped for stance length. The remote is pretty great and has an LCD screen which is super helpful to tell battery life, mph, and also the speed settings. Most cheap boards don' t have an LCD screen so this is an improvement. I have mainly used this as a board for commuting which the board functions very well. I use it to got a few blocks from bus and train stops and the speed and agility is sufficient. Furthermore it's small enough to take on a bus or train without having to stuff it in dedicated undercarriage storage. Overall this is a great little board for teens or commuting. It's under-powered however so if you want a faster, longer lasting, and more powerful board you will have to look elsewhere. ... show more

  • I have a lot of fun with this electric skateboard!
The media could not be loaded. Call it a mid-life crisis, but I'm really in love with my new electric skateboard! As a kid, I was always scared to ride a skateboard - I was more into inline skating. As an adult, I've learned to let go of a lot of my childhood fears, and when I hopped on this skateboard, it was a revelation. A new beginning. I finally understood the exhiliration one felt riding down the street on a skateboard. I felt freedom. I felt safe and secure. It was awesome! On the flip side, my 10 year old daughter hopped right on and started skating right away as you can see in the video. I love the youth! 😎 This thing is built solid like a tank! It's quite heavy due to the battery and motors, and the board itself is thick and hearty. The top side of the board has grip tape along the entire surface along with a cool design. The grip tape helps you really be able to control the board easily. The wheels are larger and makes the ride a lot more smooth, even on rough asphalt. I'm even able to go over small bumps that are about 2 inches high without getting thrown off the board. There are four speed settings on the remote, low, medium, high, and pro. It's advertised as having a top speed of 15.5 mph, but the fastest I've been able to go is 14 mph on a smooth surface. The longest I've ridden this board is for about 30 minutes, and it drained roughly half the battery. The battery on the remote control, however lasts a very long time. I would say the board needs to be charged every two or three uses (about 1.5-2 hours' use). The remote control and board connects via Bluetooth almost instantaneously when they are turned on simultaneously. Overall I really love this board and am so glad I own it! You, too can relive your childhood dreams! ... show more
