The media could not be loaded. I purchased one in late August and I was satisfied with the noise level and smooth operation. I have had a good experience with Yamaha products, so having a Yamaha motor and the price led me to make the purchase. I decided to buy another one to parallel them for more power. When the second one arrived, I did the same set-up by adding 10w-30 full synthetic oil and some gasoline. It started right up, but there was blue smoke coming out the exhaust. That concerned me since the item is unavailable for a return or exchange under Amazon's renewed policy. It was a Friday, and I called A-ipower's customer service and explained the situation to their representative Oscar. He put me on hold to speak with a technician. He said there was an issue with the generator and he would replace it. On Monday, he emailed me the tracking for the new one that was on the way, and said a return label was inside the box to return the defective one. Oscar was very responsive and professional, and he even included a parallel kit at no charge. I will definitely consider A-ipower in the future. As far as noise level, it's no louder that my friend's Honda that is more than twice the cost. ... show more

    • YAMAHA logo is stamped "embosed" from the Yamaha factory on Motor Casing.
This little generator motor is a Yamaha Factory Motor, as for the rest as in the electronics, switches etc... it all seems to be good quality and overall a great value seeing that a Yamaha Generator is three times price. So what there were no goodies we just saved $600.00 bucks, and with that we can buy what ever is needed, maybe another GenSet as a backup for our backup. We have been using this unit every day and have now for 2 weeks and it has worked great, luv the "economy mode" and it is very quiet on this mode too. Will update if needed. ... show more

I think it is a bargain . It comes in very good condition. No scratch at all. Just looks like a brand new. Add the oil and gas. Pull 3- 4 times and start right up. But there are some negative reviews about that. But One thing all of us have to be careful about the gas storage. The gas has to be store in a good and tight container,the moisture will goes in to the engine if not and will give you a hard time to restart next time. Even it might cause .damage. I think this is maybe the reason some reviewer said couldn't start up after a period of time of storage. Check the gas first and make sure there is no water in it. ... show more

    • Seems Decent, but has a few short comings
Bought this generator to go with our travel trailer when we are not in a services camp spot. The trailer has a refrig and microwave which uses the most power (also has an AC unit, but I knew this would be too much current for this generator). The microwave is 900 watts and the refrig runs off propane with a little bit of power usage. I used a 1,200 watt generator in the past which barely ran everything, so I figured 1,600 watts should be fine. Unfortunately, the 1,200 watt older generator ran everything but this one says it gets overloaded, so my guess is that it is not really doing 1,600 watts or my 1,200 watt generator is pumping out more than advertised. This generator also a little louder than the Yamaha 2K invertor generator. Keep in mind that refurb A-iPower SC2000iREC Inverter Generators don't come with any accessories like a spark plug wrench. That said, for the cost of the generator and the Yamaha engine, it is a good value. In hind sight, I would have probable bought the Pulsar G2319N 2,300W for the same cost. Pros: - Value/price - Quality Construction - Features like easy Parallel connection, fuel gauge, DC output, 120 V NEMA LR-30R 30 Amp connector - Economy Throttle - Gas Gage Cons: - A little louder than expected - No accessories like Spark Plug Wrench, Parallel Cables, Oil Fill Spout, etc - Does not seem to put out 1,600 watts - Only one 120 Volt 5-20R plug ... show more

I bought this little beast over two years ago to run off grid on my 28 foot Airstream and I couldn't be happier with my choice. It starts every time, emits an amazingly low volume, and is strong enough to run my 14k btu AC after I installed a soft starter on it.     • Don't buy recondition stuff
Bought the generator for power outages at home. They said the product was Amazon recondition, which is supposed to be like new. It started and ran like I thought, quite and easy. Put it away for six months, when I checked it, had oil leaking under it, but started easy, put it away another six months and stated it, and the oil is leaking again. It leaks just sitting there. I bought the 3 year warranty and will now see if it's any good. What looked like a good deal, it was not. ... show more

I had my reservations when ordering this, the fear was that might be more "used" than "re-newed"". But a very pleasant surprise. This one was virtually new. I have owned two Honda and they run quiet, but this one is almost as quiet, anyone that argues the point is just nit-picking. Power output is excellent. I'm suspecting these are new but had to be modified for emissions and then repacked with the gray plastic. I've seen two new ones in person, and they are both brand new. I followed a break-in procedure from another brand and didn't find any metal in the oil even with a magnet so I was happy with that. Yamaha embossed on the parts behind the plastic. ... show more
