This battery is easy to install and fits well. The increased battery life for the Gamepad is incredible, I got nearly 9 hours of gameplay (Wind Waker HD) before the low battery light came on when I first tested it. Completely worth getting if you use your Wii U even occasionally.

It took a little fiddling to get it into the back but it worked. I'll come back to edit my review to see if the battery is good or if it's cheap. Right off the bat, it looked like a mirco homemade 3xpl0siv3, but let's see how far this thing lasts.

I ran this thing through it's paces and I'm honestly VERY impressed. I charged this battery and let it do the rest. I timed how long it would take to drain and the timer froze at 17 hours. (My phone's fault, not the timer) 17 hours is insane! I purchased two of these batteries and they don't disappoint. One reviewer claimed he couldn't get the battery plugged into the port. But all it took was to PROPERLY align the two pieces and press it in. It was simple & easy. If you're looking for a replacement battery for your Wii U gamepad, you need only get this one. Very easy to install, but it doesn't work. Installed it in my WiiU Gamepad, put the Gamepad on the charging dock. No LED light to indicate it was charging. Just in case the LED was out, left it on the dock for a full day, gamepad still wouldn't turn on. Just for the sake of argument, I put the old, original, factory-installed battery back into the Gamepad. Put it on the dock, and that orange LED light came on immediately. Gamepad turned on as well. Swapped back to this new replacement battery, and got the same result as the first time - no LED light, Gamepad won't power on. This offbrand replacement battery is junk. Sending it back for a refund. Would not recommend. Sounds like the original battery just needed some time disconnected to reset itself or something. ... show more

Get about 6 hours of use from the gamepad on full brightness now. Keep in mind that since this battery is much bigger than the original, it will make the gamepad noticeably heavier.

After a few years of owning the Wii U, the original battery in our Gamepad wouldn't hold a charge for more than a few seconds. I opened the battery door cover to find it the original battery was very small (only 1500mAh). This battery is more than double the capacity of the original, and it came with a screwdriver to help access the battery compartment.
